Title: Round 5 Trades
Post by: LF on April 17, 2016, 03:53:09 PM
So looks like Stefan will miss and I really don't want Frost to cover him haha so will probably have to trade him out

Sucks about Stefan if they hold him out...you know he will be wanting to play after spending the final quarter on the bench - I think I will have to keep him and cross my fingers for Frost again.

Too many other issues this week - JJ injured - so need to get rid of him and start upgrading under-performing mid-pricers.

You know its been a bad week when you score 1834 and win 4 out of 5 league matches.

So many issues, not enough trades.....

I've been trading out my mid price mids for rookie defenders using Smith and Bartel. This week I went Paps out using Brown and Gibbs out using Smith for Byrne-Jones and Biggs.

Don't know what to do with my train-wreck of a team.

Lonergan, Ruggles on the field, Harwood, R.Gray if suspended, Stefan if he misses, S.Gray, Barlow, Hewett all problems. Where's the delete team button? ::)

im looking at Johannisen to tom lee to free up some $$$ and then upgrading papley to fyfe (moved menadue forward).  Sweating on big Stef though, otherwise i might have to rethink....

might be worth holding JJ for some ludicrous new DPP that drops next week (before rd6)

One would have to think Mason Cox is due for a run given collingwoods current woes, I'm hoping he will play and make a decent score to cover stefan martins absence.

a good replacement could be rookie-listed Archie Smith (basically his backup at the Lions)

Graham to Fyfe
Seedsman to Fantasia

Papley to O'Brien
Oliver to Selwood.

Barlow, Libatore or S.Gray to Zaharakis Surely last chance to get aboard, I dont think he looks like stopping

Need to work out a rookie to chop this week, thinking probably best bet is to get rid of Oliver who isnt doing as well as what i hoped for. Will probably get another decent score if i trade him out though, only time ive benched him this season was the game he got his 89  ::)
Will have to have a look at B/Es though, have the likes of Cameron, Davis, Papley, M.Brown who could be getting close to topping out.

Don't have much cash in the kitty and want my scores to still be solid.

Trade 1: Lonergan -> Fantasia (scoring well, low BE so still making cash)

Trade 2: S. Gray -> Caleb Daniel (as above)

I'm set on the 1st trade, but second guessing trade 2, thinking maybe I should go S. Gray -> DBJ instead to build more cash, the boat may have sailed on Daniel.  Both Daniel and Fantasia will be stepping stones to premo's, not keepers at this stage.

Hewett - Sumner and Harwood - Daniel at this stage, Lonergan survives just cause I don't wanna field Ruggles or Hartley

Not really sure, definitely going Davis to Long or Sumner and then probably Stef Martin to Goldy or maybe Barlow to a premium forward or mid.

Got a few in mind. Thinking of Duryea to Ruggles and Sam Gray to Zaharakis.

Leaves me with a weak backline of Shaw, Simpson, Sheridan, Ruggles, Byrne, Cameron  emerg Harwood, Hartley

But midfield of Ablett, T, Mitchell, Dangerfield, Hunter, Pendles, Zaharakis, M. Crouch, Menadue   Emerg. Hewett, Davis

Thoughts on Barlow > Fantasia (through moving AMT forward to F6) and then Davis to a cheap mid at M10? Leaves me with $215k + another downgrade next week to get Ruggles out of D6 for a premo def/mid/fwd.

Hmm, so with Mundy out another week, I will keep Barlow. And instead of Barlow and z smith to Darcy Byrne and goldy. I'm gonna go Hewett and McCarthy to Wagner and Byrne jones and net myself 90k and 2 guys who are going to get a good price rise and actually play.

Barlow out when Mundy back

Brisbane Lions ruckman Stefan Martin could play this weekend after Steven May hit
Date
April 21, 2016 - 12:47PM
Brisbane Lions coach Justin Leppitsch said he was satisfied with the tribunal's decision to suspend Gold Coast Suns defender Steven May for five matches on Tuesday night, after his heavy hit on Lions ruckman Stefan Martin.

"I think it was done professionally and I think most people in the media who [actually] put a number out there were pretty close to the end result; that's pretty consistent with what has happened in the game," he said.

"These are things for the game [to decide], not me as coach. It's about eliminating [head-high contact] from the game.

"It could have been us on the receiving end; it could have been anybody. Once the action stopped, it's all about Stef's welfare us from the game forward, it has nothing to do with us at all, apart from that."

Martin has passed all concussion tests this week and trained with the main group on Thursday. Leppitsch said provided he was cleared by doctors, he was likely to take his place in the line-up against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday.

Leppitsch revealed that Martin, a law student, had been sitting in on a murder trial during the week.

"All week he's like, 'I'm fine, I'm fine.' Actually he's doing his uni at the moment, he's been sitting in a courtroom, on a murder trial, so that's a good sign that mentally he's with it at the moment and he's OK.

"He's in good spirits. He's just got to get through the training session today."

The Lions are set to be further buoyed by the return of captain Tom Rockliff, who has been sidelined by a calf injury he sustained against North Melbourne in round two.

Sounds as though he will be good to go...

I would trade out SGray (I had barlow and sgray) - I'm gonna trade out Barlow next week, but I expect Barlow to get more points vs carlton then SGray will against the cats

What do you guys think out of these two options

Gresham --> Caleb Daniel JJ --> Shane Biggs

Or Ryan Davis --> Caleb Daniel and JJ--> Kade Kolo

I kind of rather Kolo but i would have to trade Davis who i think is a lot more chance of coming back in next week than Gresham, What do you guys think?

If you don't like Biggs, can you do Option 1 with Fantasia instead?
