2015/16 OFF-SEASON DRAFTS
GENERAL DRAFT RULES1. Picks are to be taken in a maximum of 24 hours from the pick before, and in a maximum of 2 hours from coming online at FF.
2. You will forfeit your draft pick if you have not picked within 24 hrs of the preceding pick or within 2 hrs of being on line following preceding pick. Should this situation occur you may take you pick at any time following from players still available.
3. Draft picks can only be taken in either draft if the team with the pick has a vacant position on their respective lists. If not they will not be able to take the pick and will pass.
4. Where Players picked go on your lists:a) Players picked in the AXVS national draft ALL must go onto your senior list.
b) Players picked in the AXVS rookie/preseason draft who are NOT afl rookie draft picked players can go on EITHER your senior list or your rookie list.
c) Players picked in the AXVS rookie/preseason draft who ARE afl rookie draft picked players can ONLY go on your rookie list.
5. Players that are available in the drafts:a) National Draft - Players picked in the AFL National Draft and any rookie upgrades that AXV Clubs would like to make (Note: This is the only way to move a player from your rookie list to the senior list without de-listing and re-drafting them)
b) Players picked in the AFL Rookie & Pre-Season Drafts, players de-listed by AXV Clubs & Players from the left-over player pool from the National Draft & previous seasons
THE NATIONAL DRAFTThis draft will be 5 rounds of selections from the players taken in the 2014 AFL National Draft all players to go on senior lists.
* Teams may and must use a national draft pick to promote a rookie off their rookie list onto their senior list.
* Teams may choose to PASS at any time any number of times during the National Draft.
* When a team chooses to PASS in the National Draft, they will receive that pick at the same number in the preseason/rookie draft.
PRE-SEASON/ROOKIE DRAFTThe preseason/rookie draft will be 5 rounds of selections.
* In the event that any team PASSES in the "NATIONAL DRAFT", any number of times, these passed picks will be taken at the same number they were in the national draft in the preseason/rookie draft.
* In the event you have more retirements and or delistings from your club than you have picks to replace those players you will recieve compensation picks at the end of the rookie/preseason draft to fill your team to the list cap levels.
KEEPING PLAYERS ON YOUR LIST WHO ARE DE-LISTED BY AFL CLUBSSome AXV clubs may choose not to de-list a player who has been de-listed in the AFL, in the hope that they will be picked up in one of the AFL drafts.
*If you do not de-list a player at the official de-listing date, he can remain on your list during the draft period
*If the player is drafted by an AFL Club, they MUST remain on an AXV list
*If after the AFL Pre-Season/Rookie Draft the player is still not on an AXV list, he MUST be immediately de-listed from an AXV list, and a player will be selected during the AXV Pre-Season/Rookie Draft to replace him
*Note that Priority Picks under our new rules will only be relevant starting from next season

That was a fantastic draft, one which a different tactic was used here ......... the fruits of which should start fully kicking in next season for the Crabs
I've updated the rookie draft player pool to include those players that were de-listed by AXV clubs, but are still on AFL lists.
Our final draft orders have now also been posted up.
All we need to do is finalise our new coach for the Gazelles and then we will be ready to begin drafting!

With my first selection, I deliberated long and hard over who to take. I've put aside my Brisbane bias for once when drafting to help fulfill my midfield needs, I could really use another young star in there.
So I will take a man who many rate as the best midfielder in the draft, hopefully he can work his way into a strong Sydney midfield and play some senior football in 2016:

I was very tempted to, don't worry about that :P
I took McCartin last year though, so I've already got a gun forward developing. And for me it was just a matter of desperately needing another midfielder, whereas my forward stocks are pretty strong going forward.
Unfortunately there is no hope of said Brisbane forward making it to my next pick :P

Really annoyed I wanted to upgrade Henry Schade and William Frampton but if I did then I'd have to pass on NAT 11. Suppose I have Sandi now so upgrading Frampton wasn't really needed.

Also #61 changed in a trade. Strikers don't actually have any Nat draft picks.

I really need midfielders but, looking at my team I'm not realistically challenging next season so I'll have another chance to have a crack at midfielders in next years draft. They also don't take nearly as long to develop as key forwards.
So I will have Josh Schache - if he turns out like Cloke but accurate like some have been saying then he'll be gun pick up.
We now have Tom Boyd, Peter Wright and Schache on our list - when they develop that should be a lethal trio.

The Dolphins senior list is already full from what I can see, so this pick is ineligible.
Drafting will be suspended for a short time until I can have a chat with Memph to ensure this is the case and I have not missed something.
If it turns out that his senior list was full, then we will need to go back a few picks and re-draft as Fiorini would still be available.
I will keep everyone posted with what happens next.
Would it not be better to just ask the other coaches after (Ada, JB, Toges) if they want(ed) Fiorini in a PM to the three of them or something rather than having 'go back and re-draft' and have to wait for all three to come on and pick again, especially if they intend to pick the same players?

But it's understandable if some people don't realise........there wasn't really advance warning of it opening up, just a pm to say it was open. I think the draft is being kept moving, however the next pick is Memph so he has 24 hours :)

Those selected in the AFL Rookie Draft have to be drafted onto AXV Rookie lists. Players from other selection pools can go onto either list providing coaches have space on both.

Matt Stokes was drafted and I have a feeling upgrading a rookie isn't an option.
If it is then I guess we can continue (he can choose which rookie when he wants) but might want to wait until an official ruling has been made on that one.

I was going to say that I feel like the decision had to be made now, but I can't see why that has to be the case if so. Those AFL clubs upgrading rookies aren't being asked to do so before the season starts (I believe).

I don't like any of the options so I will take Mark Jamar with my first pick. And hold onto my 2nd and upgrade a rookie at a later date.

Correct, just had a look on the UF site & Tbag is the 1 outstanding ATM.
And i wasn't on there until yesterday :(
l suppose the question is does anyone have tbag on fb, because JB will need the time to list all the players on UF. Initially it will be time consuming, but once done will make his job much easier
tbag doesn't even strike me as the type to have fb tbh. :P
