Title: Elliot Yeo
Post by: bennyfraz on May 18, 2015, 03:01:51 PM
Backline is depleted, looking for a cheap upgrade.

Is Yeo a worthy pick?

Has put together a nice month of footy and looks to be playing a lot more midfield.

West coast supporters can you help me out if you think he will continue this. His BE is 27 so its now or never

I guess I'll kick it off to put you out of your misery :P
I don't think he will kick 4 goals in a 90+ point win every week, but does seem to be playing more inside mid these days and is good enough at it for it to bode well SuperCoach wise. But does Rosa and Selwood push him out of that rotation?
Yeo seems to be playing a wide variety of roles this season playing loose in defence and up forward as well.
I will heavily consider him as an upgrade for Lumumba, who was meant to be doing the same thing as Yeo is doing now.

Simpson has been trying to get Yeo into the mids because that is where he wants him to play injuries however keep forcing him to use him down back and forward when needed.
Scooter etc back in should not push him out of the midfield.

He's done the same as Picken - 3 really crap games, ROLE CHANGE, 4 great scores

I don't know enough about him, but if he keeps his position in the midfield he could easily live up to his preseason hype!

Wish I could bring him in but I have plans for Buddy this week and Tommy Rock next week

How bad were GC in that 3rd quarter ... yes they were bad all day ..taking nothing away from WC they have been in very good form.

Badluck mate .. I think I lost the KO cup in Dreamteam ... Jaensch and Griffen getting injured around halftime killed me.

As a WCE supporter, I am loving the way he is going about things, but just be a little careful - we are going along really well as a club lately and so is he. I'd be surprised if we kept this up, and when we do start losing a few matches I'm just a little concerned about how or if that will impact his scoring

I think spending the extra 30-50k for a Fisher, Murphy, Rance etc might be safer

Spending an extra 25k for Bob murphy definedly safer.
Said all pre season I thought he would b the breakout defender of the year.
I almost jumped on him last week. Even tho he has shot up a lot I'm bringing him in with Rocky this week

I think he could be the Eagles best player in the next two years.
Simpson would b crazy to move him from the ball.
He wants to be a midfielder and the club won't move him from the centre.

Get on guys. 95-105 for the rest of the year is honestly possible

Will he get games for that hit?
Will be interesting. The ball was pretty close to the swing, plus he seemed to pull out of it, but the player he hit couldn't play on.... So....?

Yeo might get a game..?

Yeo attended 14 centre bounces prior to Selwood coming on as the sub. Only 4 after that compared to Selwood's 10. #AFLFantasy #SuperCoach

Interesting stat, wonder if this will affect his scoring potential when Selwood starts play full games

Very concerned.
As an eagles fan ive watched every minute of him and was very annoyed that the minute selwood came on he was shunted to the forward pocket.
Even still, he is so good he will have an impact forward of square.
Wouldn't b bringing him in, but wouldn't b too worried as an owner.
Only needs to average 90-95 to be a good pick and will do that. Pretty exciting player.

"The MRP viewed Yeo's strike on St Kilda's Jimmy Webster as careless conduct with medium impact to the head, which led to a two-match sanction.
The in-form Eagle can accept a one-game suspension with an early guilty plea, which would see him miss Sunday's clash with Geelong at Domain Stadium.
Eagles coach Adam Simpson told 6PR on Monday night he would be keen to take Yeo's case to the Tribunal, however he said the decision was not in his hands. The club will weigh up all options before making a decision on Tuesday."

I'm not sure I want them to! How often does it actually work?

I reckon they should appeal. It wasn't that bad and in the contest.
Soon spoiling will be like the bump, you can go to spoil just dont make head high contact of any sort or otherwise you will be rubbed out ::)

What is our game coming to. There was no malice involved, he was playing the footy. Free kick or fifty but move on!

Apparently has accepted 1 match.

You could even hear the umpire during the game explain "Its in the contest, not a separate action".

So why the hell should the MRP step in? Its not an off the ball incident that the umpire didn't see and needed to be picked up.

Not really a problem IMO
Selwood needed a run so he had a run
I do not think it will change what his role in the team is over the season
(providing he plays of course :) )

So annoyed at our club right now, should of challenged. Fairly sure Simpson was keen.
Our club has to stop being so conservative and grow some balls >:(

Not the right thread for my rant so will leave it there. Still glad I have Yeo in my team but a bit unsure what the Scooter effect will have. Hopefully it will be business as usual when he is back.

Damn right! Looks like a young gun. Would have loved to have seen him play this week.
Sure hope the rest rejuvenates him, yet doesn't cost him any momentum.

Averaged 90 for most of the season and didn't get much of a chance to play his role properly given the injuries to the WCE defence.
Not sure what more you expected from a bloke who was stuck playing full back?

Has showed what he is capable of with some great scoring weeks, particularly mid year. Last month has been poor in terms of scoring but as mentioned role has played it's part there... Nab watch and possible starter in 2016 for me. Good price and upside.
Glad I didn't have him this year though.

Victim of his own versatility.  When WCE get some defenders back in, I'd expect him to get more mid time.

Definitely will be starting with Yeo next year I think!

His form through the middle of the season shows what he can do with some midfield minutes, and I would expect that to be his role in 2016 when the Eagles backline is at full strength again.

Shaw, Matthew Boyd, Smith, Yeo?
