Just a note about the rising star, is that, in the past the only website to show EVERY eligible rising star for every club is footywire. They currently don't have this information yet, and last year that didn't show it until round 2, so it's possible we may have to wait a round or 2 before we can determine who is the rightful nominee of the award in the first couple of rounds.
New York is in with a chance here
Was so happy (and couldn't believe) that Cockatoo slipped through to us with Pick 11 and he has to be one of the early favourites. Hopefully he has a big year for us! :)

With Libba and Montags injured he could get an early run!
Doubt it though :P
After having Jaeger Bomb win it, I didnt have much fun last year.
Scharenberg my only shot, if he is fully fit he has a chance.

We could chuck him on the bench :o
I actually didn't draft ANYONE that was drafted in the AFL nab drafts, so I really don't know who is eligible for me lol

Still can't believe people voted for Mitch Wallis instead of my boy Treloar.

Round 1
Rising Star
He came from nowhere and managed to start for one of the best teams in the competitions, Kamdyn McIntosh gets the first nomination for 2015 with a massive 120!
Team of the Week
A forward is the captain this week, the top scoring defender played in a losing team and three of the four TOTW forwards suffered losses even with their big efforts.
D: S.Docherty (Moscow), J.McGovern (Cairo), B.Smith (Cairo), T.McDonald (Dublin)
M: A.Treloar (Vice Capt, Berlin), J.Lewis (Mexico City), R.Sloane (Dublin), B.Ebert (Mexico City)

#DocherGOAT
Treloar 8) nice work nige
Congrats McDonald.
Goldy should lock down that ruck spot.
Ah good, footywire has updated its info and given me all the eligible rising stars.
Can super duper confirm McIntosh was the nominee, followed by Isaac Heeney (96)
Round 2
Rising Star
This week's WXV Rising Star nomination goes to London Royals defender Adam Saad who was an emergency last week and got called up to London side for Round 2. Saad managed to pump out a score of 90 which secured him this week's nomination.
Team of the Week
It won't surprise many that Dublin have the most contributors here with 5/15 players from the Irish club. Another forward takes captaincy honours this week in JJK and feel good stories from Buenos Aires with a man who started as an emergency in Easton Wood making the team and everybody's favourite cellar dwellers NDT also getting a contributor. Jarrad Waite, Josh Bruce and Jasper Pittard would be feeling hard done by having had sensational games... for their teams' reserves sides.
D: A.Rance (Dublin), C.Hooker (Beijing), E.Wood (Buenos Aires), T.McDonald (Dublin)
M: N.Fyfe (Vice Capt, Berlin), D.Mundy (Dublin), D.Shiel (PNL), S.Coniglio (New Delhi)

Because it's his time to shine :D. With him and Rich stepping up, we have a decent midfield to contend :P.

even a surprise for me is Mcdonald 2 from 2.
Purp Fyfe + extra for Tmac?

Just look at Fyfe (VC) up there.
Anyways, I bet ya TMac ends up with an 80 average come the end of the year... quote me on this :P
Belated congratulations to Adam Saad for the Rising Star nomination. Well done.
Round 3
Rising Star
Tim Broomhead gets the nomination this week for the WXV Rising Star. Putting together a lovely score of 108 helped his team get over the line against the one of the competition's better sides. Beijing have even more reason to celebrate this week!
Team of the Week
PNL's Hodge gets the captain's armband with Dublin's Roughead his vice. The struggling Cape Town have two nominees including an unlikely candidate in Mark Blicavs as this week's ruck while other surprises were Christchurch's Roberton and London's Pearce. The best three contributors to team of the week notched 177, 173 and 170 respectively!
D: L.Hodge (Capt, PNL), B.Houli (Rio), G.Birchall (Dublin), D.Roberton (Christchurch)

Round 4
Rising Star
The honour for Round 4 head to Moscow where the beast that is Jesse Hogan claimed honours. His monster effort of 118 helped his team just scrape over the line against those pesky Brewers.
NB: Patrick Cripps and Cameron McCarthy would feel hard done by, they both didn't get named and outscored The Hulk, let's hope they can back it up if and when their coaches take notice.
Team of the Week
This is what we like to see! A nice even spread across the board with the no one club dominating the Team of the Week. Quite a number of fresh faces and a few unusual suspects, but the toast of the town will be Dublin's Todd Goldstein winning back his mantle as the top dog in the Worlds rucking department.
D: L.Picken (Christchurch), P.Seedsman (Moscow), J.Gibson (New York), S.Butler (Toronto)

I: N.Fyfe (Berlin), M.Rosa (New York)

4 weeks in and only one team hasn't had a Team of the Week representative yet.
That honour(?) goes to Seoul.

Snuck past Stefan Martin and Billy Longer who both scored 140 (not that Longer would have counted as we didn't play him).
Cape Town and Dublin going head to head for the best Ruck every week it seems :P

Round 5
Rising Star
Beijing are going to be lethal soon, and that's because they have guys like Touk Miller who this week produced a solid 105 to take out this week's nomination. In the process, he pipped his fellow Thunder buddy in Jackson Thurlow who put up 102. Beijing will be loving this!
Team of the Week
Hopefully this trend continues, we have a nice little mix of representatives again this week. London, Beijing, New York and Christchurch all with two contributors. Amazingly, competition behemoth Dublin only had one person make the team, and barely at that. Meanwhile, Adam Oxley will feeling hard done by after being left to play in the reserves by Mexico City.

Good on you Touky and Jacko! Good to see our young boys stepping up when needed 8)
Brodie Grundy only a point off the ruck gig as well! Watch out Goldy & Stef ;)
Such a shame about Oxley!
I hope Lobbe can gain match fitness then he may be able to contend for an odd ruck spot here or there.

Not if Jack Lonie can help it! :P

The real pity is Oxley is 22 and therefore isn't eligible to be nominated.
Don't worry, I know the feel. Jezza McGovern missed out that same way last season. :(

I thought we were tonight about TOTW haha, but yes that's a shame, same with Ellis-Yolmen :(
This Holz bloke sure is a decent coach ;)
Scharenberg might not get a game to compete for Roy with McDonald and Bruce going insane.
Round 6
Rising Star
Did I say star? I meant stars! Yep, that's right. We have joint-winners. Patrick Cripps finally got the nomination he so desperately desired and Jackson Thurlow is no longer the bridesmaid! They both notched a score of 104 to share the spoils.
Team of the Week
The even distribution continues this week with a few familiar faces popping up as we've come to expect. Fresh faces are also present and we hope to see them again, so we encourage them to put forward consistent and quality performances. The hard luck story of the week is Easton Wood. Despite being named in the best for the Dillos, the lack of a proper ruck for them meant he played OOP. Holz's domination as coach of the week continues while Stef Martin has once again got himself into the ruck spot over Todd Goldstein.
D: S.Burgoyne (Tokyo), C.Enright (PNL), T.McDonald (Dublin), R.Laird (Pacific)

Good on ya Jacko 8) Beijing's third rising star nom after 6 rounds!
And London's McStay would be pretty annoyed, had he had played this week, he would have only just edged out Cripps & Thurlow :o
We have no chance for the Rising Star, but glad to see Billings making an impact once he cracked the PNL team! Enright also doing his best to cover Hodge's absence :D.

He needed to get his confidence back in the reserves after a couple of disappointing weeks. Watch him again this week. ;)
Round 7
Rising Star
The Buenos Aires Armadillos haven't had much to celebrate this year, but they'll love this! The nomination this week heads their way with Jordan De Goey getting 88 to sew up the honour. He played OOP in the ruck, but his raw score was enough.
Team of the Week
Once again, the somewhat even spread is evident. However, there are fair few Mexico City and Dublin players making up the numbers. Again we see some new faces, who we welcome to return. Most notably, Cairo got their first representative since Round 1 and neither Dublin's nor Cape Town's ruck was amongst the leading candidates for the spot with Mexico City's Ivan Maric stealing the honour from Cairo's Shane Mumford by a point.
D: E.Yeo (Rio), M.Johnson (Mexico City), T.McDonald (Dublin), R.Murphy (Dublin)
M: M.Priddis (Capt, PNL), T.Cotchin (Vice Capt, Cape Town), L.Parker (Tokyo), N.Fyfe (Berlin)

I'd look at it this way. Assuming you'll continue to play Sheed, I think he'll be a leading candidate to earn a nomination in coming weeks.
I thought Sheed would have got it, but I went to Purps and asked. He basically said to look it like this: For example, if Player X scores 105 but had a resting bonus that inflated his score, but Player Y scored 110, you'd give it to Player Y whose raw score was better because he actually did score more for the round.

without the byes I could probably do it and stand a decent shot. I could do Dublin and Ex Dublin players. With guys like Fyfe Gray I could do damage.
Round 8
Rising Star
Cape Town are up and about right now and they'll continue to party all night long with Cameron McCarthy taking home the nomination this week after convincingly beating out his peers with a score of 114.
Team of the Week
As we've come to expect, a nice even spread. No dominance by one particular team. But wait, no Dublin representatives! That sums up their week. Oh, I'll also get in trouble if I don't mention the coach of the week is none other than our beloved overlord Purple 77. Hard luck story of the week? It's Jordan Murdoch who must hate his coach, he produced the second best score of the round... for Rhineland! There's more where that came from. Rounding out the top 5 scorers of the week is Travis Varcoe who helped Shanghai to victory.

Yay, go me! Second time ever been coach of the round, after being close a lot since captain buddy kicked 13 in Launceston and I cracked the 170 barrier in 2012.
Yay Steven and Hibberd! The funny thing is, had I not been chicken and rested fyfe instead of treloar, I would have captained Steven and broke the 170 mark :P
Lachie Neale producing the goods again. Fast becoming a star!

So do we tbh, that's all we have right now. In fact, we played like 7 or 8 this past week. :o
We have plenty of depth as well.
We will be looking for another midfielder come season's end and can offload a forward or a defender.
Haynes and Schofield are averaging 70+ but, are on the outer of our best 4 defenders. Jake Kelly and Gary Rohan are young with lots of room for improvement and averaging 60+ this year. Also have Gwilt, Smedts, O'Shea and Dick who've gotten games this year.
Meanwhile Crameri, Sam Reid, Lachie Hunter, Jaden McGrath, Mitch Honeychurch, Jimmy Toumpas and Dean Kent have all played at some stage and have promise.
We'd be happy to package up 2 of those guys for a better midfielder.
Might get a first entrant for the season ::)
Round 9
Rising Star
It was a good week for Buenos Aires and part of that is because the nomination this week goes the way of Angus Brayshaw who made a strong contribution of 107 to help his team to a hard fought victory this week.
Team of the Week
The big news this week is Seoul finally getting a contributor. Not only that, but their sole contributor Patrick Dangerfield pumped out the biggest score of the round to captain this week's side. Other points of interest are Rory Laird and Alex Fasolo being the only two Pacific players to make the best this week which has reflected in their spot in this team while Mitch Wallis stood up for Buenos Aires and Dayne Beams continues to be the shining light in what has otherwise been a disastrous season for Cairo. There was also a new ruck this week, with Nic Naitanui getting the honours.

Round 10
Rising Star
Another Rising star nomination is heading London's way, with Billy Hartung picking up the nomination for this week. He was the best of the non-centurions with a 91 in his team's losing effort.
Team of the Week
This was a fantastic week for the Team of the Week. We've got new faces, familiar ones and most importantly, Shane Mumford got his rightful place as the ruck, but with Sam Jacobs snapping at his heels for a spot on the interchange. New Delhi also had two contributors, with Andrew Gaff and Koby Stevens putting their hands up. Hard luck story of the week comes from France where coach Hellopplz is a cruel mistress having Justin Westhoff be first emergency. The coach of the week honours went to Purple 77, who almost certainly will not want to give that position up.

Round 11
Rising Star
Buenos Aires are getting another reason to celebrate with Nick Graham scoring 101 to take out this week's honours. He becomes the third nominee for this award for the Argentinians. Tom Boyd scored more this week, but found himself in the reserves rather than Seoul's seniors so missed out.
Team of the Week
The honours were spread across the board again with Tokyo, Buenos Aires and PNL having contributors which hasn't happened too often this season. Nat Fyfe the captain is nothing new and the three rucks (one playing as a mid - the modern game everyone!) making the side this week. Coach of the week is none other than wannabe Santa himself - Hellopplz!

it never is in fantasy. just need to look at Serbia's dominance but no titles to show that. especially when guns start getting rest towards the end of the season. last year i lost goldy buddy and rocky in the grandfinal
Round 12
Rising Star
The honours this week head to Moscow where Dom Sheed took the chocolates with a 102. Buenos Aires' Tim Membrey has reason to be salty as a game in the seniors would have got him the nomination. Instead, Moscow coach Jukes has one less reason to complain. Let the vodka flow.
Team of the Week
This week's team features three representatives from both Moscow and Christchurch who both posted very solid scores while Tokyo, despite a middle-of-the-road score, managed two contributors. In other news, New Delhi's Jack Darling was this week's best forward, Toronto's Scott Pendlebury went berserk and Dublin's Todd Goldstein triumphantly reclaimed the TOTW ruck spot.
D: K.Kolodjashnij (New York), L.Picken (Christchurch), L.Hodge (PNL), B.Houli (Rio)

Round 13
Rising Star
In a rebuild, you'd hope your young guns are firing and showing the talent you know they have, and that's exactly what is happening at Buenos Aires. This week, they've got another nomination as Matt Crouch scored 99 to add the list of Armadillos in line for the honour of WXVs Rising Star for 2015.
Team of the Week
It's exciting times for us here at Team of the Week because there's a new ruck in town and his name is Maxwell Gawn and he's from Berlin! Some bloke called Gary Ablett has also risen from the ashes and a defender is the captain this week of the side this week. Todd Goldstein didn't appreciate being outdone and was able to sneak onto the interchange while Buenos Aires' vice captain lead the way for forwards this week and Cairo forward Luke Breust made an appearance.
D: L.Hodge (Capt, PNL), A.Rance (Dublin), T.McDonald (Dublin), L.Picken (Christchurch)

Just noticed Jackson Thurlow was nominated for rising star 2 years ago (2013) also. He joined Billy Longer as the other player to have been nominated twice (2012 and 2014).
Not unheard of for players to be nominated twice... just weird that both did 2 years apart (you'd think it would be in consecutive years given the 10 game limit).
I'm worried Jack Lonie won't get a nomination.
He's not scoring high enough to get it and there's only like 4 weeks left. :(

Round 14
Rising Star
The Round 14 nomination heads Christchurch's way as Jack Steele produced a 75 to take it out this week. Jack can count himself lucky, as teammate Harris Andrews put up a 89 and James Harmes from sub-continent got 79. Nevertheless, congratulations!
Team of the Week
The big news this week was the terrifying score produced by resident team of the week ruck Todd Goldstein, but Rio's Gary Ablett won't let him steal his thunder. Beijing did well to have two contributors while New York's Heath Shaw was the shining light in a not so bright week for them. Fascinatingly, Mexico City, despite a top 3 score this week, only had one man squeeze into the side.

Touk gets a TOTW nom! What a great first year he's had, a bit of a steal at where we picked him up 8)
Still bitter that even though we had two in the TOTW we couldn't get a win.

Was going to draft him at 20 so lucky he slipped to you guys
Round 15
Rising Star
It's been a long time coming, but Jack Lonie of Cairo finally gets a rising star nomination. His 75 isn't the best score you'll ever see to take out a nomination, with luck being on his side as Jake Lever, Kyle Langford, Kayne Turner, Jack Sinclair, Charlie Cameron, Darcy Moore, Harris Andrews and Jono O'Rourke all produced better efforts... in the reserves!
Team of the Week
The team this week once again has brought some familiar faces, with a few returning to form or producing what we know they can do. Perhaps the biggest surprise comes from the ruck of the week where Callum Sinclair of London proved to be an unlikely hero and beat out regulars such as Stef Martin, Mark Blicavs and Todd Goldstein. With only a couple of rounds left, if any player wants the honour of being in the team of the week, the time to act is now!
D: D.Roberton (Christchurch), L.Hodge (PNL), C.Hooker (Beijing), H.Shaw (New York)
M: J.Lewis (Vice, Capt, Mexico City), J.Selwood (Dublin), P.Dangerfield (Seoul), B.Stanton (London)

I: H.Bennell (New York), Z.Merrett (PNL)

You're a legend Drew!
And yes I know he has only been in there once, but Max Gawn is going to join that group as a regular 8)

Unlikely got Goldy to compete with.
A positive though is future Berliner Jack Gunston (current Worlds captain) will likely be in alot of the team of the weeks next year.

You didn't have to trade him, you could have kept him and let his value rise or kept him for good if you could see this in him.
Roberton at D1 is an accurate representation of his standing in the game at the moment. The unsung hero of our team this year. When you take his age into account he's one of, if not the most valuable defender in the comp at the moment. A 113 average over the last 5, while that Melbourne flash in a pan is on the decline.

The best defender in the game is Alex Rance.
only 25 about to turn 26. has years of being a premo and has just broke into being a super premo. That concistency is what you want, all these guys i want to see a few more premos years till they join the Alex Rance club.

Hey Nige, love the work you do with this every week mate. I think you might have made a mistake though and listed the wrong Shaw at D4 this week? Probably just a typo, so I, and most importantly Rhyce, will forgive you
Which leads me to this current discussion about best defenders in the game...Shaw, Toovey, Litherland, Spangher. Do I need to say any more?
Seriously though, if Kelly goes around again, Griffen, Kelly, Macmillan isn't too shabby

It's actually supposed to say H.Goddard. :P
Round 16
Rising Star
Round 16 has brought us another tie! Both Seoul forward Caleb Daniel and Cairo swingman Hugh Goddard sharing the spoils with a 68. We can't help but notice the quality of nomination scores are dropping off, so we're left to wonder if the final nominee of the year can pump out a ton. Maybe it could Harris Andrews, who cracked the 100 point barrier but found himself playing reserves again!
Rising Star of the Week
London, Mexico City and New York all had three contributors this week, while our captain came from Dublin. In short, pretty much all these faces are usual suspects, some serial offenders. There's only one more chance for these same names plus any others keen for stardom to contribute, so who will rise to the occasion in the final home and away round of the season?
D: H.Shaw (New York), S.Higgins (Cape Town), D.Rampe (London), M.Broadbent (Mexico City)
M: J.Selwood (Capt, Dublin), B.Stanton (London), J.McVeigh (London), J.Caddy (Beijing)

If you were playing against anyone else, I would say yes it was :P
I could so see Toronto losing because they played Turner, and Buenos Aires winning, meaning they miss the finals!
I remember that time when everyone voted for Wallis over my boy Treloar purely because Mitch had a better average even though he was a 2nd year player. Go ahead and vote for a 2nd or 3rd year player again, we don't need the WXV award to know that Harris and Jake are the real rising stars.
Round 17
Rising Star
Last but not least, Harris Andrews of Christchurch finally gets a nomination with a respectable 80. He had missed out in previous weeks but the very last nomination of the season heads his way for his persistence and patience!
Team of the Week
Oink oink, Dane Swan, the pig of old is our final captain! Sam Jacobs relegated Todd Goldstein to the interchange by a mere point. Aaron Hall was the hard luck story, with a massive score... for Toronto's reserves side - Manitoba. We're done for the year! Congrats to all those who were nominated for a rising star or made the team of the week!
D: S.Higgins (Cape Town), A.Fasolo (Pacific), H.Shaw (New York), M.Baguley (London)

Dublin's big 3 in Goldy Martin Jelly all made the team so im happy. Just need number 4 to step up in Rory Sloane, he was good but I need all 4 firing to take this out.
And an even bigger thanks for Nige massively helping me out with this!
A good 5 players would have got the nod ahead of Andrews this week, with serial misser-outer McStay leading the charge.
89, 79, 109, 80 is a solid month for any backline premo. My boy Harris doesn't turn 19 until December too. Well deserved nomination big fella.

Brayden Maynard
Alex Pearce
Jake Kolodjashnij
But sure, him too :P
PNL never got a nomination this season for Rising Star, but don't think we had many in with a shot. Think only Laverde or Garlett really and both didn't play for more than half the year each :(.
