Riewoldt kicks to a 1 on 1 and it’s Cumberland who wins out against Ridley. He runs in to 25m out and guides through the first goal of the evening! (Q1 1:59)
Shiel takes advantage from the middle of the ground and feeds a handball to Stringer who runs to 50m out and blasts through a response for Essendon! (Q1 3:32)
Prestia shovels out a clearance and bombs it inside 50 where it gets behind everyone to the advantage of Cumberland who dashes onto the ball and puts through another goal! (Q1 4:33)
McIntosh walks through the ball for a rushed behind (Q1 7:10)
Shiel fashions a kick to the lead of Wright who marks on the 50. He gives it a good roost and it’s on-line, but is touched through for a point (Q1 10:04)
Daniel Rioli pokes a kick out in front of Bolton who marks 40m out on the flank. His kick falls short and is eventually knocked through by Heppell (Q1 11:30)
Ross pumps a ball into the pocket where all the talls fly for it. It spills into Riewoldt’s hands who gets it to Prestia allowing him to run into an open goal! (Q1 13:15)
Ross shakes off a Parish tackle to find Edwards all by himself after working down from the wing. Edwards marks 20m out and converts! (Q1 16:13)
Parish cleaves a ball from the centre square that is called touched, it spills from Perkins down to D’Ambrosio who runs into space and slots a goal! (Q1 18:34)
Balta kicks low and strong into the pocket for Lynch who marks easily. It’s a difficult kick, and Lynch can’t convert, kicking a minor score (Q1 21:32)
Short handballs in front of Maurice Rioli who manages to get a kick off while being tackled, the crafty small sneaking through a goal! (Q1 23:31)
Ross spreads wide to McIntosh who then chips a short one to Prestia for a better set shot. The meatball runs in from 30 out but his kick sticks to the right (Q1 24:59)
D’Ambrosio cops one high as he’s fighting for the ball and thus he lines up from 20m out. He backs up his recent goalkicking form by slotting his second goal! (Q1 27:00)
There’s a roar of approval as Hurley finds D’Ambrosio with a long kick. Massimo lines up for goal number 3, but sprays it wide missing the lot! (Q1 29:33)
The umpire picks out a Miller free kick at the death of the first quarter, robbing Riewoldt of his mark. Ben runs in from 30 out and puts it through anyway! (Qtr Time)
Perkins kicks a long ball to the square where it bounces off the pack. Parish is under there to scoop up the ball and sneak through a goal! (Q2 0:38)
Perkins kicks inside 50 again, to the lead of Wright who gets one above the shoulders from Tarrant. He jogs in from 30 out and pops through a goal! (Q2 2:32)
Merrett tries a snap after being fed the ball from Stringer, but misses (Q2 6:18)
Prestia winds up a shot from near 40m out, but he misses to the right (Q2 6:29)
Guelfi tries his luck at goal, but misses narrowly (Q2 7:18)
Riewoldt works his opponent under the ball with a push, but is paid the mark and nails the snapping set shot from 25 out! (Q2 9:13)
M Rioli marks 45m out, but his set shot falls very short. It spills off the pack and in front of Edwards who was lurking in space. Shedda runs onto the ball and pokes it through! (Q2 11:33)
Riewoldt cleverly taps the ball on which allows Sonsie to take a shot from 45, but it flies high to the left for a point (Q2 14:54)
Shiel kicks long to the pocket, but the ball spills off hands for a point (Q2 16:34)
Hind’s kick finds the chest of Menzie who gets a shove after the fact from Baker. A 50m penalty results which allows Menzie to walk to the square and kick his first AFL goal!! (Q2 17:33)
Nankervis kicks to Miller on the wing and Essendon are caught napping as Miller kicks in front of Cumberland who has a paddock of space to collect and slam through a goal! (Q2 20:18)
Nankervis marks 45 out near the boundary, but can’t complete the goal (Q2 23:15)
Essendon work it forward through Hind who finds Wright with a searching kick 45 out on the boundary. His kick has a bit of left to right, but not enough, for a behind (Q2 24:15)
Lynch is infringed in a marking contest but the umpire decides to pay a strange advantage which forces Edwards to rush a snap that fortunately flies through! (Q2 25:13)
Draper cleverly taps the ball onto Caldwell in the middle of the ground who then hits up the lead of Wright. Big Peter runs in from 30 out and puts it through! (Q2 26:39)
Lynch is held by Laverde just outside 50 and the big tall lopes in to give the ball a roost! It falls just short and is knocked over though (Q2 30:33)
Merrett catches Cotchin high and the former Tigers captain starts off the half the right way with a goal! (Q3 2:59)
Bolton is held by Kelly and then sends him to the candy shop before slamming a ball deep to the square, no one gets a hand on it and it bounces through! (Q3 4:59)
Riewoldt mops up a loose ball at half forward before kicking to McIntosh in space. He marks and goals as Richmond look to really put the hammer down! (Q3 7:42)
Miller falls over in a tackle and wins a free kick which allows Short to quickly find Lynch on a lead. Lynch kicks from 45 out, but it hangs out right for a behind (Q3 10:13)
Lynch is held by the undersized Kelly in the pocket, and he converts the simple set shot for his first of the night (Q3 12:05)
Lynch outmuscles Laverde to mark a Short kick to the pocket. He goals again as he looks to feast on the battered Essendon side (Q3 15:04)
Bolton kicks to the pocket where it’s Lynch who marks again. He nails the kick for his third in the quarter (Q3 17:00)

Merrett finds Hurley on a lead and the noise rises as he lines up the shot. The old legs can’t make the distance, but Wright is able to mark and snap through a goal anyway! (Q3 20:18)
Bolton takes a sliding mark 45 out, but his set shot fades to the right for a behind (Q3 23:01)
M Rioli drops into the hole to mark the slightly short inside 50. His shot falls short and is handled through (Q3 28:01)
Heppell is caught in the back and gets a free kick 35 out in front. He puts it through for some late joy in a dirty quarter for the Bombers (Q3 29:26)
Pickett ushers the ball through for a rushed behind at the end of the third quarter (Q3 31:19)
Bolton stops and props to try snap through a goal, but Ridley and Hind are there to rush it through, collecting each other in the process (Q4 3:50)
Heppell is caught HTB by Lynch in the pocket, allowing him to slot his fourth goal (Q4 4:43)
Kelly coughs up a free kick to Lynch off the ball and as a result he goes back and slots his 5th goal in the second half (Q4 6:48)
Draper tries to snap a goal from a throw-in, but misses barely (Q4 8:30)
Ross gets a chance to kick for goal and does, curling through a nice finish (Q4 10:03)
Sonsie lines up a set shot from 40 out, but it fades left for a point (Q4 12:12)
Draper soccers through a goal off the deck to give Bombers fans something to smile about! (Q4 18:24)
Riewoldt gets a free kick for front-on contact, but his set shot is offline (Q4 19:29)
Sonsie crashes through and steals the ball before trying an inside-out kick that doesn’t come off (Q4 20:29)
Draper is cleaned up by an umpire but play continues as Pickett marks 45 out. He completes the set shot to bring up 20 goals for the Tigers (Q4 23:29)
Hurley marks in the pocket and the crowd rises to a fever pitch! He runs in to 15m out and kicks the goal!!! (Q4 26:54)
Sonsie marks as the clock ticks under 60 seconds. It’s been an inaccurate night, but this time he kicks the goal! (Q4 28:27)
Riewoldt gets the final kick of the game as he runs into the sound of the siren, and sprays the kick to the right (Q4 30:29)
