Dumped unceremoniously by a youth-focused North Melbourne after yet another serviceable 22-game season, Sam Gibson was picked up for chips by the Crows to top up for another flag assault. His game from a wing is extremely outside with only a third of his 22 possessions being contested. He can tag as well, spending time on the likes of Rory Sloane, Dan Hannebery and Stephen Hill in 2017.With Rory Atkins settled on one wing, Gibson is as much a chance as any Crow to take the other, especially if he can add defensive midfield work at a club which hasn't developed a tagger. Adelaide's engine room is far superior to that of North so there is significant upside if he does secure a spot, though his form last year was spotty and he will have plenty of competition. A good JLT will see him drafted late in your league. -
