TAGS (life club position role style health) (FF #40044) 2019 DT PRE-SEASON OUTLOOK (posted 13 Mar 2019) No shoey for Bootsy
A consistent utility capable at either end of the ground, Ryan Schoenmakers continues to provide backup for the best 22. Originally drafted with a focus to learning the defensive craft, Schoenmakers has spent the bulk of the last four seasons in attack. He played the final six matches of the home and away season, averaging a goal a game but gathering eight or less touches in five of his nine senior appearances.Drafted as a first-round selection following the Hawks 2008 premiership victory, Schoenmakers has consequently struggled to become a first-choice option for coach Alastair Clarkson. From 2013 to 2018, Shoey has played just 55 of a possible 132 home and away fixtures. He will continue to struggle for senior opportunities with a fit list and Mitch Lewis may jump him in the pecking order with continued development. -

PLAYER DISCUSSION • next game* - oc16 - 151 months ago • i cannot express in words how much of a shower player he is, he got absolutely dominated by cloke last week, hawkins this week and is the sole reason why hawthorn did not get into the grand final last year. gilham better be coming back next week, otherwise i will personally make sure Schoenmakers does not play next year. if this website allowed me to rip into him as much as i want to right now i would, but unfortunately i just cant. - oc16 - 151 months ago • Don't think so BigV. he's topped out. - Hevvie - 174 months ago • will be worth a look next year or year after, not yet though - SC ADDICT - 175 months ago • Turning into a really solid running, tall defender. I'm so glad he stayed with Hawthorn instead of that mob who call themselves the power! - gonzales - 175 months ago • Schoenmakers will be one of the most-improved defenders in AFL dream team this season. - BigV - 175 months ago • he's a german shoemaker - hullseysan - 186 months ago
