    Pain, pain and more pain
    Saints skipper Jarryn Geary battled with a range of injuries in 2019, eventually succumbing to a season-ending fractured fibula in round 11. A painful corkie that required surgical intervention had slowed him to that point, missing six of the opening 10 fixtures. He went on an individualised veteran-based training program in preseason.
    Key to the Saints defensive setups, coach Brett Ratten will be hopeful the elder statesman can regain the durability record which saw him play 94% of matches between 2015-18. Renowned for his defensive prowess, Geary has rarely made statisticians sweat over multiple games even though he can flatter with the odd decent score now and then.

    • This guy is your replacement for Jack Grimes. He has had an amazing preseason. he has played all four games in the preseason scoring under 82 only once. he scored 88 against brisbane in televised event. nab challenges he scored 82 vs dogs. scored only 23 against richmond (due to lack of time on ground) and in the last game he scored 93 against Port Adelaide. The best thing is he is allmost guaranteed a spot in the 22 due to the fact that the saints backline is that week they promoted Zac Dawson as Maguire and Hudgeton wont be back in squad until fully recovered. Jarryn Geary is probably the best preseason for his price. he is averaging 71.5 but keep in mind he only played around a quarter against richmond and thats because they were trying other defenders. - dtownsend - 187 months ago
