In between two NEAFL stints and two soft tissue injuries, Claye Beams managed nine senior games last year to take his total past 50 in seven seasons, in only one of which he has played more top level footy than that. At no point has he threatened to deliver consistently startable fantasy scores.Beams was dropped from senior to rookie list in the off season, and at this point he can be considered to be a back up only, as the Lions are bringing through a raft of top draft picks who should eventually fill his position, and may have a better run with injury than he suffered. Leave him on the sidelines for now. -
