    Veteran key defender Nathan Brown signed on for a further year and will aim to continue providing leadership to an oft-besieged back line. The former Magpie started mostly in the defensive goalsquare, regularly holding his own against highly-rated opponents.
    Brown will face competition from a resurgent Logan Austin at full back as the Saints explore the next generation in their defensive spine. Key defenders and fantasy scoring are like cats and dogs, rarely are they friendly toward the other.
