So i have decided to do something different this year and run 1 premium and 7 rookie midfielders and load up elsewhere in the team. This is my team. Please give me honest feedback especially if you think it can work. I know im taking a huge gamble and risk however i wanted to do something different so here it is I guess ill either sink or swim

B- Goddard, Shaw, Waters, Gibbs, Duffield, Goodes (Vlastuin,Terlich) -THINKING OF MOVING VLASTUIN TO MID BENCH FOR DPP SWAP WITH GOODES. IF I DO THIS BLICAVS WILL GO TO THE RUCKS AND ROWE WILL BE DROPPED

M- Ablett, Toumpas, Stevens, Wines, Hill, Mitchell, O'mera, Blicavs (Kommer, Viney)

R- Maric, Jacobs (Rowe, Currie)

F- Franklin, Cox, Zorko,  Bartel, Rockliff, Watts (Maccafer, Neade)

I have $92 700 left over which should make it easier to upgrade the rookie mids

Also players in bold are emergencys and Ablett is C and Jacobs is VC
and as above i will rate your team if you rate mine. Just leave me a link to yours under your comment

extremely risky approach mate! although you've loaded up on premiums in the backs, rucks and forwards, youll be missing the best scores which normally come from the midfielders, if you are really keen on going many rookie mids id at least start 3 premiums as you are relying 7 blokes to play each week that aren't guaranteed regular spots. you will also miss out on potential breakout players in the backs and forwards as you have already set these in stone. although its a smart idea, its extremely risky, yes it could pay off and hats off to you if it does but I just think the points youll be missing out on in the midfield will set you back early. Little bit too risky for my liking, try 3 prems if using this approach and maybe 5 forwards and backs instead of all 6, up to you though mate, good luck :) 7/10

good luck with this..

honestly i dont see it working because without swan, pendles, watson etc you are effectively losing 30-40ppg from each player as no one else can average as high as them

Thanks for your feedback mate. Everything you have said is vaild however i am confident i can make an ok job of it. Improptu that one supercoach 2 years ago tried this in 2010 and finished top 1000 so ultimatley if i finish in the top 5000 i will be happy.
I also think it will be easier doing this this season as there are more trades

Thanks again for your feedback

Goodluck with this, serious balls you have

only two things that i'm not liking about this is if i was to go so thin in the midfield i'd want all my other positions set in stone, which i don't really think you've done, hibberd and watts etc might have to get upgraded

second thing is premo mids are extremely hard to upgrade too because of their cost and that is a huge amount of money you are going to have to come up with.

Goodluck to you my man if you go for this

Mate, this is a huge risk as the top scoring players are generally midfielders. On top of this, you need to be absolutely confident that your rookies will play week in and week out. So other then Ablett, you need to hope that 7 of those rookies play each round. Vlastuin is more then likely going to be wearing the vest more times then not. Why don't you go with a similar theory but instead of your midfields go 1 premium back and load up in your midfield?
In any case, the way to succeed in supercoach is to be unique and from looking around people seem to have quite similar teams. So if it pays off, you'll be laughing.

I reckon I have seen this before.

Wasn't it you trying it last year?

If not, then don't.

Can end really badly.

Good luck.

your also relying on these midfield rookies to score well, like Greene/Conigs last year.. can it happen? maybe..

Also this effectively leaves Waters, Shaw, Birchall, Hartlett and Heppell out.

And NicNat, Maric, McEvoy, Roughead AND Walker, SJ, Pavlich, Chappy and Rocky out.

You'll spend a lot of time waiting for rookies to mature and will fall behind in overall I think.

MOst of the players you have mentioned though im not to keen on anyway and especially with the extra trades this year if i have the wrong premiums at the start i can sideways trade them

Yeah mate i will do it and provide updates through the season

anyone else have any thoughts on this

Like the idea. Risky but i like it lol. Don't know about Minson as 2nd ruck, but yeah it will be interesting to see how much all those rookies increase ur team value by.

Cheers mate im hoping that they all pick up a fair bit of cash and then i can slot in a few more premiums in the middle.

I have also been toying of going without GAJ and having the spare cash and hoping that he drops in price come round 3 but still unsure.

thanks for commenting

id say most of what im thinking has been covered above but il go through it anyway..

midfield is where the majority of points are scored & althought you have loaded up on the best players in the forwards and backs, their point scoring doesnt really compare to that of the ilk of pendles, swan, danger, cotchin ect ect...

but in saying this, if your strategy is this way inclined, you have chosen well in the backs & forwards and for you its simply about choosing who you think are the best players in those spots!
