Ive pretty much settled on these two teams for round 1, just not sure which one I should pick, any thoughts and advice on which one and a rate would be great (each teams rucks and forwards are the same, its only the defence and mids that are different). I am aiming for overall/top 1000 by the way. Cheers guys.

Team 1
Def: looking pretty good, better options than Hanley IMO. 9/10
Mid: pretty good, just a bit risky with 6/10 rookies. 8/10
Ruck: amazing, but i think overpriced. i would downgrade one of them and have another premium midfielder. 10/10
For: I had Daniher as well but got told by many that he wouldnt play. 9/10
Overall: Pretty good, just the mid's a bit week, need another prem there, 36/40

Team 2
Def: need 4 decent defenders, risk having 5/8 rookies. Again, better options than Hanley, 7/10
Mid: Better than Team 1. hannebery is an interesting POD, update him to K.Jack or ROK IMO, 9/10
Ruck: again, amazing, but i think overpriced. 10/10.
For: Same as Team 1, 9/10
Overall: Not bad, 35/40

Team 1 is better IMO

Good Luck :)

agreed, although if you swap Hartlett with a Duffield it might just sway it

Thanks for rating my team.

I like your team 2 better with the stronger midfield.

Team 1.
def- I think you have a really good def line. Hartlett at last looking strong enough to last a season without injuries, Hanley also looking good (whole Lions outfit for that matter). 9 1/2 out of 10
Mids- Can't see all of the rookies playing. Crouch trying to get into a strong midfield will get the vest and Wines/Mitchell will be fighting Cassisi and Gray coming back. Viney also will struggle to get in I'm thinking (hasn't had much NAB time). Maybe Kavanagh (I know you don't like Embley). 7/10
Ruck-as said-great! 10/10
For-One weak link here I can see is Rowe. Looked pretty poor in NAB final (although whole Carlton team was a shambles by the time he came on). Also Daniher hasn't had a game so far as I have seen so would look elsewhere. Lee or Kerridge look ok. 9/10

Team 2
Def- I think if there is a line to risk too many rookies it is the back line. They score less each year on average, Goodes looks like a certain starter, I think Pittard probably safe and you would think at least one of the other three would play each week. 8/10
Mid- Again, I think it's risky having both Wines and Mitchell. Hannebery great being unique, but can't see him moving in price much. Consistent but not a great scorer. I would go Moloney and upgrade when then the cash comes in, both will score about the same so no loss. 8/10
Rucks same. I do like Witts, hadn't even looked at him. 10/10
For- As with team 1 - 9/10

I'm pretty sure alot of the rookies will be dropped for the home and away; NAB and the last two years give a false sense of security. Of course, looking at all the teams on FF would say different, but something to think about. Good luck for the season.

thanks guys, personally id just pick team 2 as im going for overall and 4 prem mids and 4 rookies seems a bit risky to me and will leave me behind early but id just like to see anyones thoughts and any improvement ideas? cheers guys, keep it coming please :)

Another opinion is that you are sinking far too much money into your rucks.

As a rest, your forward line suffers.

Move Cox fwd and consider a ruck to keep short term and make money until NicNat comes back.

By then you'll hopefully have a few rookies ready to cash in, and there will hopefully be some on the bubble and Leue may be ready too.

Guys like Jacobs, Ryder, Roughy and McEvoy only averaged 105 or less and had really good years. Maric freak year so won't rise much.

Better value and point potential elsewhere like Fyfe, Mundy, Moloney, Murphy etc.

Good luck.

thanks mate, ive made a couple of changes, ive kept the rucks the same despite your comments, I understand where your coming from but I think maric will keep up around 110 and im not confident in other rucks, having him there knowing he will stay is good and cox will eventually become a forward once a ruckman is upgraded. Ive loaded up on forward mid pricers to make cash. What do you and everyone else think of the changes?

D: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, P. Hanley, B. Goodes, J. Pittard, D. Terlich (L. Stevenson, S. Docherty)
M: G. Ablett, S. Pendlebury, J. Kennedy, P. Dangerfield, D. Mundy, O. Wines, J. O'Meara, J. Viney (B. Crouch, M. Jones)
R: I. Maric, D. Cox (J. Witts, D. Currie)
F: L. Franklin, T. Rockliff, D. Martin, J. Kennedy, P. Karnezis, S. Byrnes (B. Macaffer, S. Rowe)

Team 2 with one less rookie in the backline. I think there is 1 to many rookies in both teams. your rucks are super strong perhaps you need to downgrade a ruckman to upgrade one more rookie. Goodes is still on the rookie list 2 mate, I have no idea if he will be elevated for rd 1 or not.

other then that very solid both teams
8.5/10

here is mine changes all the time lol

Team 2 is better. You've gone for more scoring in the mids which I think is what is needed with so many choices available. Stack up on the defence rookies instead and the team is looking all round very solid.

Nice solid team mate

Def- 3 prem players ( love the unique pick in hanly don't see much of that) perfect rookie players
9.75/10
Mids - very strong with  Ablett Pendles danger jpk ( mundy can see him getting back to 100+ this year. If I had the salary I would of put him In) like the rookie choices all good and the unique pick In jones from demons. 10/10
Ruck- very strong with cox able to rotate from forward to ruck at will. 10/10
Forward- really good choice with the 3 perms and Karnezisis great pod mid pricer. Nice picks in Kennedy and Byrnes. 8/10
38.5/40 overall rating mate

Very solid team mate! I like the idea of going set and forget in the ruck could start you off really well if going for overall. My only concern is Josh J Kennedy. I feel he's a bit expensive for what your gonna get which is very up and down scores from a kp foward. I reckon varcoe presents better value running off the half back line getting all those handball receives and inside 50's.
