thinking its fairly decent but id love any feedback for improvements. cheers

Pretty good mate. The main thing that stands out is u have overspent in the forward line (and u have Cloke) and left out Gary Ablett in the mids.

Backs: Strong Hartlett will score alot more than last year
Mids: You have 3 of your premium that will effected by the round 13 bye so at replacing one of Swan or Murphy for Kennedy
Rucks: Standard
Fwds: Very Strong interesting pick of Cloke at F5 maybe better off downgrading to Byrnes Or Varcoe. This year there are not as many good Fwd Rookies so having depth may be good

Overall Very Strong team which i rate highly 8.75/10

I dont believe the GnRs rookie stragey will work this year with many teams going for 1 or 2 mid priced players in the middle, Even Koby Stevens presents good value amongst Embley, Ball, Moloney, Newnes and co.

Wouldn't worry too much about the byes a lot can happen between now and round 11 which will throw your plans to the dog house. 30 trades this year should cover all bye problems.

3 key forwards can smell danger if one or 2 have off days. Like the selection of Simpson though if he was drafted to any other club he will be very popular. At Freo will struggle for opportunities with light weights Hill and Pearce already in the team.

Like the extra cash in the forward line, in the end it doesn't matter about positions so long as you're generating good cash!
I reckon start with either swan or pendles as they'll usually go nuts alternately, then pick up the other down the track.
I'm unconvinced Goldy will be a *top* ruck, but hey everyone else seems to be.
Shelve your collingwood allegiance and boot Cloke  :P

Reckon you could add Russell, Frost, Beams, Ball, Young, Witts, Lynch and Krakouer.

They could all go up and I reckon you'd love it.

The team as you've posted it looks good except I don't think Goldy will be top 6 ruck.
