Haven't heard many people mentioning his name, are people off him? He's a dead set gun! Getting older no question but will still average 115-120

Windigo

People think there are more upside in other younger players.

Saying he is too old is not a very good excuse not to pick the best DT option from last year.

Adamant

He will smash it in the NAB cup and everyone will lock him in again like last year. :P

I think most are thinking along the lines of...

a) Guys like Pendles, Murphy, Fyfe, Stanton etc are underpriced +
b) Expected improvement in Redden, Cotchin, etc +
c) Having to start Swan and/or Ablett +

= Leaves Boyd and Watson as an upgrade targets

tbagrocks

That's my thinking, I like underpriced lads, Boyd ect to be brought in later

and what'd he average in the remaining rounds? like less than 80. He's a piece of crap.

Carrying an injury and in a team that imploded
There's no doubt he only scores well in a strong team but he's still a bloody good scorer

Perfectly summed up. And for what it's worth, I agree, Stanton is slightly under-priced seeing as he was carrying an injury. We ignore players' scores when they get subbed off with an injury, so why not in this instance..?

second half season he seemed a bit slow around the ground and had a few weeks off with a hamstring injury which could have slowed him down in weeks around the time off. Bit demotivating playing with Essendon as well so work rate was down. First half he was a gun though and with Goddard now in the side may free Stanton from taggers.

He's a bit of a risk and could average anywhere between 130 and 80!!! One to keep an eye on.

FanFooty logic:
Boyd scored more points than any player in 2012.
Has missed only 2 games in seven years.
DO NOT WANT!

Nutcases.
