Very interested to here what people have to say about this first draft. Please don't hold back. :)

GM

Nice C4 some good uniques,
Prob need an Ablett or Pendles in your mids.
Robbie Gray will have a late start due to surgery.
Drop Lecca and Gray = 1 fwd premo and Staker perhaps
Moloney and Ball = pendles or gazza and wines.

Hawks_1976

Greenmoon your right on the money

Bock and Yarran = gun and rookie
Ball and Moloney = gun and rookie
LeCras and Gray = gun and rookie
Cox instead of Nicnat
Gibbs instead of Heath Shaw.

;)

Dump Gray.
Agree with Hawks about Gibbs not Shaw.
Agree with greenmoon....Need some quality in mids...Jelwood & Cotchin might be top 6 mids in 2013 but I'd like to see Gaz or Pendles in there too.

I don't know why everyone thinks that Gibbs will play better than Heath Shaw, infact the evidence suggests Shaw will play better.
By picking Gibbs over Shaw, the reasoning would be due to a new coach, which is fair enough so lets just wait until NAB Cup.
Keep Shaw in there for now, got no problem with that.

Yarran + Bock + Hartlett = 3 pretty big injury risks.

Bit overkill in the mids, I would probably just keep one of Moloney/Ball (as said earlier), the premiums are fine, maybe lacking a perma-captain but I'm sure you'd be looking to upgrade to Ablett/Pendles/Swan/Beams/Watson as soon as their prices dip?

Rucks are fine and so are the fowards.
Keep NicNat in there.
Cox is on the way down (look at his stats) and without his massive 2 outlier scores he barely average 100 last season.
Wait to see how NicNat performs in the NAB cup, but I'd still pick NicNat over Cox.

Gray wont start so consider maybe Broughton or even Varcoe.

Saying all that, a very nice team :)

Hi guys,

Thanks for your feedback.

I've take on board some of the things that you have said and have tweaked the team somewhat.

Bock and Yarran stay as I don't think its worth doing a gun/rookie when both of these players are capable of averaging 85+ and in defence, thats pretty much a gun. Yeah they are a risk, but these are the ones you take to win the game.

Completely missed Brent Staker and he is now in and I wasn't aware about Gray so he is out.

Some cash freed up to allow Pendles in, but yeah I was thinking of waiting for Ablett's price to drop as it does most years.

Cox v NicNat? Eh, splitting hairs.

Anyway, team now looks like this.

2013 First Draft Fanplanner squad in the Super Coach competition coached by c4v3m4n. Salary cap left: $11,200.

DEF: Brendon Goddard, Heath Shaw, Bryce Gibbs, Nathan Bock, Chris Yarran, Luke Brown

MID: Scott Pendlebury, Trent Cotchin, Marc Murphy, Joel Selwood, Luke Ball, Sam Mayes, Brad Crouch, Jaeger O'Meara
(Nathan Hrovat, Jack Viney)

RUC: Todd Goldstein, Matthew Leuenberger

FWD: Lance Franklin, Nic Naitanui, Tom Rockliff, Greg Broughton, Mark LeCras, Brent Staker
(Tom Lee, Tim Membrey)

Yeah I  like this new team heaps.
I'd almost give it a 10/10 for a December planned team, things changed but this is a great plan team
