Lachlan Hunter
Bio
DOB: 13/12/1994

Height: 181cm

Weight: 78kg

From: Western Jets

Draft Selection: #49 (Father-Son)

AFL Club: Western Bulldogs

FanPlanner Price: $94,200

Position: Midfield

Thoughts
Hunter is a dynamic midfielder with sensational goal nous, the Dogs picked him up under the father-son rule at pick 49, otherwise he was expected to be selected around the 30 mark. He had a fantastic TAC Cup, were he played through the midfield and averaged 138 Supercoach points, with a stand out performance against the Eastern Jets where he racked up 37 touches and also kicked three goals. Hunter also showed his capabilities up forward late in the season, kicking six goals in one outing. Western Jets coach, Steve Kretiuk, described Hunter as one of the smartest players he’d seen. He is a natural footballer and has worked hard this year to improve the defensive side of his game.

Verdict
Hunter has plenty of class and is one to look out for in the future, but he will be competing with the likes of Wallis, Liberatore, Stevens and fellow draftees, Jake Stringer and Jackson McCrae for a spot in the Dogs young midfield led by Boyd and Griffen. I’m not sure there will be a regular spot for him just yet and there are better young midfield options at this stage. Worth tracking his pre-season form though.

Prediction
Should get some games, the question is how many. 67.

Nice write up shorty. Sounds like a player to consider.

Where do you get your tac cup SC scores from?

shorty3264

no worries. haha thanks mate ;) much appreciated

Cheers quinny, well i just happened to come across that stat in an article. I read plenty of Herald Sun articles and they use the supercoach scoring system often in them.

Hunter will get games I reckon. With the Doggies midfield getting stronger, Stringer and Hunter might have to play up forward. Nice work again Shorty  8)

Even if he does get games, dont think they will be early. Maybe downgrade option.

He's set to make his debut, here's a bit of info on him. Has plenty of potential, whether we see it this year will be another question.
