Matthew Arnot

Type:
Matty Arnot is one of the many tough nuts recruited by the tigers in last years draft. For me, he would be a favourite of Dimmas, tough, hard, gets his own ball, can run off half back, and then can get a bit niggly aswell. He came close to Brandon Ellis who took out the tigers time trial the other day. Vlastuin is the next tiger set to be recruited in that type of mould. If Grundy is picked over Vlastuin that may improve his chances of debuting next year.

Fan Planner price: 100,200
Position: C (However he did spend a lot of game time in the backline in the VFL and if he cracks into the Richmond side would play running off half back)
Stats: N/A for AFL.
However his TAC cup 2011 stats courtesy of a footy tragic writer:
19 disposals (9 contested), 68% efficiency, 4 marks, 4 clearances, 6 tackles from 20 games.
Age: 19

Thoughts
Personally I think he should definitely get a crack at the AFL level, he's a tough, fierce competitor who can run off half back and have stints in the middle, good for midfield depth. The 19-20 year old debutants sometimes seem more ready then the players coming fresh out of the most recent draft. Questions have been raised about his kicking which makes me question his usability in the Richmond backline as a designated kicker which is what Richmond needs, which is also why Vlastuin would be a good fit for the tigs. He could prove everyone wrong with a solid pre-season and some good training, doesn't look like he needs too much more bulking at this stage, his body is clearly ready made for AFL football.

My verdict
If he's a MID/DEF I'll strongly consider him; if not, I'd only pick him if he has a very solid NAB cup.
2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: Could fluctuate a lot but with 2 pre-seasons under his belt i'm predicting
70-85 along with about 10-20 games.

Nice work Ant! Can't see much game time for Arnot in 2013, but I expect to see him a lot in the coming seasons. Perfect replacent for Tucky

Biscuits!
Nah dont think he would have very good JS even if he were named round 1 unfortunately. Hopefully gets a crack at some stage though
