BRIEF HISTORY:
------------------------------------

2009  A breakout year saw him deservedly win Essendons best and fairest award, finishing sixth in the league for hard ball gets. Elite around the stoppages, the midfielder displayed marked improvement with his kicking and running capacity. His efforts were rewarded when he was appointed captain for the 2010 taking over from Matthew Lloyd.

2010  The first year captain capped a brilliant 2010 by completing back to back best and fairests. Led the club in disposals and handballs and finished fourth in the competition for hard ball gets. Smart, creative and tough around the stoppages, Watson's improved kicking ability has him close to the top echelon of midfielders in the competition.

2011  Started the year in career best form, averaging 29 disposals and kicking 13 goals in the first 8 games. Two hamstring injuries cut short his brilliant start but he still finished fouth in the best and fairest, despite missing six games

2012  Winner of the 2012 Brownlow Medal, Watson had another break out year putting himself amongst the best midfielders in the AFL. Kicked 20 goals for the season and led the club in hard ball gets.

VERDICT: Watson had a breakout year in 2012 averaging 112 and became a great unique if you had him. Can we expect the same output from Jobe in 2013 ? He seemed to be able to cope with a tag as clubs targeted him as the season progressed but put in a few low scores to finish the season. With Goddard now at the bombers will this release some of the pressure and translate into more of the same or will it decrease his output with Goddard racking up the possies ?

PREDICTION: I think he can replicate his scoring of 2012 .. average  111 .. Could be a great unique. The downside is he has the round 13 bye  :'(

They both haven't been put on the thread though ???

Nice write up anyway, I wasn't planning on starting with Jobe, and the round 13 bye has made him an even bigger no.

AAHHHH crap not again ... didnt see him in the directory.. seemed a little strange  ::)

According to the Supercoach directory he hasnt been done there either  :o

Yeah thought he'd be done before oh well can't hurt to have another opinion lol. I had him most of this year and loved his consistency, probably won't make my starting team this year as I see less upside in him than Murphy but will definitely be looked at as an upgrade target.

I don't pay any attention to the byes until they arrive, so it's starting to look like Jobe might be an interesting POD!

Yeah could be a very nice POD for some teams given people have jumped off of him because of the byes!
