I remember last time we had to include reasons why were doing the trade to let the voters know why you thought it was fair for your team. Will we still have to do that?

I think we should... Just because it's interesting  :P

Maca24

Agree. Makes it easier to vote through trades as well.

MajorLazer

Os, I may be wrong, but I was sure I had pick 5 in the draft. I counted in reverse order (yes I can count) and am fairly sure I was the fifth team.

Happy to be proven wrong, well not really, but just want to make sure this is cleared up. :)

Clarkson and Neeld can pull out of the trade anytime before Saturday if they receive a better offer.
Not a fan of this to be honest. Once a trade has been announced someone can look at it and go "Oh I want that player instead so even though they have agreed a deal with someone else I am going to try and hijack it." Which is exactly what Fark did in the Euros trading before the season. Someone would announce a trade and Fark would say "no don't trade with them I can offer you better." EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Fair enough voting that you don't think a trade is fair, but trying to take that player for yourself is not right. You say you want it to be as similar to the AFL as possible, and obviously they don't have the voting by the other coaches, but once a trade has been announced in the AFL another team can't come in and try and change the trade.

After with this 100% I can see this leading to poaching. I'm happy for deals not to be locked in till voting occurs but a deal should only stop if the trade is deemed unfair in my opinion. As CF said as soon as a deal cones through people will try and undermine it to try andget a deal for themselves.

Something I would also like yo see is no comenting on trades till both people have agreed

AFEV

In a massive 3-way deal struck just 3 hours after the trade window opened:

New York Gives:

National draft picks 2, 21, 39, 57 as well as Nick O'Brien and Alex Fasolo

New York Receives

National draft pick 80, Travis Cloke, Trent Mckenzie and Ayce Cordy

Reasoning

We were in dire need of a forward (as a lot of the teams in WXV are) and Travis Cloke fit the bill, despite question marks over where he'll be next year and whether he can get back to '11 form - We believe he's what we've been looking for. Additionally it is guaranteed he will remain selectable as a forward his entire career.

We needed a succession plan for our current ruck duo in Cox and Pyke. Both of them are 28 and are beginning to near the end of their careers. Ayce is 22 and has shown a lot of promise to date, after he puts on some more weight we are confident he will be able to duel with the best.

Trent Mckenzie also gives us a valuable boost in the midfield, and gives us wiggle room to offer some other players as trade bait this off-season.

(Above) Travis Cloke shows his elation upon hearing about moving to NY (btw why do italics show as bold?)

CONFIRMED

Tokyo Gives: Mckenzie, Blease, Pick 6, Cloke, Cordy
Tokyo Recieves: Judd, Pick 21, Suban, Townsend, Fasolo, Nick O'Brien

Reasoning:

We are aiming for top 4 next season and believe we needed another premium mid and Judd fits the bill. While we didn't really want to lose Mckenzie or pick 6 it was a sacrifice we were willing to make as we also gained 2 solid defenders who will help fix our weak defence in Townsend & Suban. Fasolo will replace Cloke in the forward line while Nick O'Brien will be good back up and may even replace another player likely to be traded who I won't mention just yet. Blease while he has potential isn't in our best side and quite a way back in the pecking order so he was happy to go to a new club. Cordy is a solid young ruckman and battled valiantly for the Samurai this year in place of the injured Leuenberger but we believe we can replace him fairly easily in the draft or via trade.

Also I apologise to all those interested in Cloke. If you feel you can offer a substantially better deal then you can still offer and I will consider before Saturday but it is unlikely.

Additionally, we needed a succession plan for our current ruck duo in Cox and Pyke.

CONFIRMED

Just to clarify, the full three way trade is as follows:

Tokyo Samurai gives: Sam Blease, Travis Cloke, Trent McKenzie, Ayce Cody and ND pick 6.
Tokyo Samurai gets: Chris Judd, Alex Fasolo, Nick Suban, Jacob Townsend, Nicholas O'Brien and ND pick 21.

New York Eagles gives: Alex Fasolo, Nicholas O'Brien and ND picks 2, 21, 39 and 57.
New York Eagles recieves: Travis Cloke, Trent McKenzie, Ayce Cordy and ND pick 80.

Pacific Islanders give: Chris Judd, Nick Suban, Jacob Townsend and ND pick 80.
Pacific Islanders receive: Sam Blease and ND picks 2, 6, 39 and 57.

Our Reasoning

The Pacific Islanders have always maintained that we intend on heading in a more youth-orientated direction and getting two of the top 10 draft picks is a great result for the future of the club and something we were definitely after. We are still looking for young developing talent but in the meantime, Sam Blease fits that bill nicely after some great performances in recent weeks and we have no doubt that he'll be a fantastic midfielder in years to come and a great addition to the Islanders.

A great win for all clubs involved. Sad to see captain Judd go though. :-\

Yeah, reasoning does make it more interested, happy with that.

I think you've convinced me CF, happy to abolish the 'poaching' rule... what do others think?

And wow, big trade guys!

and yeah I agree I'm not really a big fan of the poaching rule... I still say the trade should be able to be cancelled if both coaches agree to it though before the Saturday.
