Travis Cloke
Forward
Collingwood
$383,300

2010 Games: 20
2010 Average: 85.2
2010 Big Scores: 162, 108, 108

2011 Games: 22
2011 Average: 95.7
2011 Big Scores: 136, 134, 131

2012 Games: 22
2012 Average: 74.4
2012 Big Scores: 147, 125, 114

Summary: Had a rather rubbish 2012 with ongoing contract speculation and negotiations, has signed on at the pies and, at a tasty price of 383k, looks a great opportunity for an upper-mid-price/lower-premium player. With Quienten Lynch in as number 2 in the Pies forward line, Cloke has somebody to share the tag with rather then Chris Dawes, meaning some of the load will be taken off him allowing him to move further up the ground freely and rack up some more possessions, a major part of his game which was lacking in 2012. Has got good durability having missed 20 games since debuting in 2005 (meaning he has missed just 5.68% of games over his whole career, including his rookie year.

Verdict: A return to form with his future tied up at Collingwood and with other, non-spuddy forwards to share the load, a great pick for a cheaper 4th forward.
Predicted Average: 90-95

4th forward hmm... Would want a bit better than him for the 4th forward.. Blokes like lecras and gray are way better option imo and save over 100k while your at it..

Jukes

I see Cloke as better value then Gray and LeCras. Cloke has the ability to easily average 95 again, while Gray and LeCras will probably only score mid-80s at best, with the added chance of reinjury, compared to Cloke's durability.

Have all three though, behind Stevie J and Rocky (have Cloke as third forward) in addition to Bocky as DPP with Lake.

The_Captain

Lecras was almost ready to play finals.. throw in 5 more months of recovery and he will be fine.. If you work it out on points per $ that each player cost lecras works out to be way better than cloke even saying lecras averages 80 and cloke 95.. But i reckon lecras will average 80-85, and cloke 80-85.. maybe 90 if he has outdoes himself..

Jukes

Cloke averaged almost 86 in 2011 and I can only say things can only get better. His contract has been wrapped and he has a new, extremely better partner in crime in the big Q then SpuDawes. He could go 100+ if he finds form, racks up more possessions by playing further up the ground (which Mick likes from his forwards) and kick more goals. Have him at 90 however because things could go astronomically wrong; pies fall meaning he kicks less goal, Lynch steals goals or is horrible meaning Cloke gets less dt for goals kicked or cops the hardest tag every week exclusively.

Cloke and LeCras should both be good picks and they are both being strongly considered for me next year.

I'm not sure Gray will be worth it tho. Coming back from injury, never scored all that high and he plays for Port...

Footy_Boiz

Currently have Sylvia as a foward in that price bracket but could change

Yeah I'm feeling Gray is the weakest link in that price bracket, seeing as he's likely to average the least of them and has a better chance of reinjury. I'm thinking of upgrading him to a premium...that is, if I can scrounge up another 200k...

My forward line atm is: Buddy, SJ(will swap with Rocky/Fyfe if DPP), Robbo, LeCras, Gray, rook, rook (rook, rook)
Cloke is very tempting...might upgrade Gray to him  :P

Sitting at F4 atm. Like his price, and think he will get back to 85+. Nice write up Jukes.

aces-high

Him versing sylvia for a spot in team. Think i'll be going sylvia as his game is suited to a dt slut role where he can rack up big points playing midfield and kicking goals. Cloke has more of a teniency to go missing occasionally however i feel next year he will be alot more consitent then this year and get back to average 90+. Not the worst option though.

Colliwobblers

tempting but probably not. KPP and their form / up and down games just not worth it me thinks.

Too many bargain fwd options available to spend this much on Cloke after 2012. But I expect a season much closer to 2011 in 2013 from him.

still won't start him.

Mr.Craig

He screwed me in 2011 when I didn't have him and screwed me in 2012 when I did...

Whatever decision I make he'll find some way of hurting me. Damn you Travis! >:(
