Jack Riewoldt

2012 stats:
Games: 22

Position: F

Average: 90.8

Tons: 8

Grade: 7/10

Riewoldt in 2013
Price: $482,300 (Fan Planner)
Position: F

Since breaking out in 2010, Jack has  become a reasonable Supercoach scorer. He had a much quieter season in 2011 carrying a hip injury and only averaging 81 but bounced back this season with a respectable 90 average, including a monster 187 in round 10 against St.kilda. The problem with Jack however is like most key forwards his scores are inconsistent. He relies heavily on a bag of goals to break the ton which realistically isn't going to happen week in week out. For him to increase that average further and become more consistent he would have to play as a higher half forward that leads up the ground and takes multiple marks. Something the Richmond faithful dont want him to do as they would rather him leaading out of the goal square.
Jack is a confidence player, when he's up he's unstopable but when he's down he's ordinary. He is coming into prime age (24 at the beggining of 2013) With Vickery coming back into the side, the recruitment of dangerous forward Chris Knights as well as further development from Martin, Nahas, Edwards etc it will take some of the heat off Jack and hopefully free him up from being double and triple teamed at times. The factor of Richmond being an improving side with a classy midfield should also hold Jack in good stead for an increased average in 2013. Dont expect a consistent season from Jack because its probably never going to come but he should put together a solid season.

Predicted avg: 95

Gee at that price for that Ave would have to be considered! I get the feeling he's more of a stay home Full Forward and won't get the possessions a Walker or Cloke will at CHF, Question is then with 10-12 possessions and 2-4 goals a game will that be enough to get him near 100 ave?

Do you think 95 is too generous?
I just dont see why he couldnt go up 4 ppg when he didnt have that great of a year this year and still avgd 90.8, is coming into his prime and is an improving side

Thanks Quinny - excellent work. he frustrated the heck out of me early in '12, then I found myself wishing I'd been more patient.

Not sure about '13. Cloke might be the go.

Sorry Quinny wasn't trying to be negative, yeah I think he can play much better and 95 is still enough to consider him, With Vickery back should take some pressure off him and he could even go higher, Knights will help to

Cloke will be 50k cheaper and plays in a better side so yes I would prefer him too

Nah I know mate, all good :) I personally wont be going near him. Buddy will be my only true forward with a later upgrade to Tex

Adamant

Buddy will be my only KPP this year, so no room for JRoo.

tbagrocks

Remember this! Taylor ave 100 in 2012 and only showed his potential a handfull of times, he will be even better next year and as he gets more consistant and with the confidence of what he can do, 110 is not unreachable for Tex!

Heres a little stat that shows just how much Jack relies on goals to get a good score

In 2012 when Jack kicked:
5 + goals- Avg: 124    (did this on 5 occasions)

3-4 goals- Avg: 89      (did this on 7 occasions)

0-2 goals- Avg: 43.1   (did this on 10 occasions)

Really needs to get rid of some of the 0-2 goal games, particularly the 0 or 1 goal games, which he had 7 in total. Only then could he produce a much larger and consistent score
