Josh Toy - Gold Coast Suns (requested by Adamant)

Position: DEF

Price: $101,600 (Fanplanner)

2011 Games: 8

2012 Games: 5

2011 Average: 46.4

2012 Average: 17.8

2012 Tons: 0

Summary: Toy is almost certain to move to a Melbourne club next season and get a better chance. In his 5 games this season, he was the green vest for 4 of them. Basically, this combined with minimum game time means he's rookie priced but with AFL experience. Very worth watching over the preseason to see what role he has with a new team.

Verdict: Have to wait and see where he goes, what the other rooks are like, and how he's used in the NAB. Definitely one to watch though!

LH's prediction: No idea. Your guess is as good as mine. Umm.... 50...? 65...? 80...? Seriously, no idea.

Depending on NAB form and where he goes, might squeeze him in  :)

Actually in my preliminary team, if he finds a good club with opportunities could be a good pick

What an average haha
The good thing is that it was over a 5 game period so he was consistent ;)
Seriously though, he owned that green vest!

i thought this kid was supposed to have been an elite junior?  ::)

Guess its a bit of wait and see where he ends up. After a couple of years in the system and at a basement price I think it's pretty likely I'll pick him up if named R1 wherever he ends up.

toy was a gunnnnnnn junior, i remember watching him destroy my school with 50 odd touches and 5 goals and thinking how id enjoy picking him in my dt in the years to come, definately watching him.

Capper

at that price as long as he starts in what ever melbourne team he plays with i will pick him up

On the radar for me .. hopefully he goes to Melbourne

Kellogscrunchynut

Very highly rated as a junior so I confidently selected him in 2011 hoping for a season like the one Bugg just had and if he can find his way into the best 22 of another side could be a rather interesting selection.

Scrads

A round 1 start in a Vic team and he will be one of the most picked players next year I would imagine.

From Fox Sports;

Gold Coast defender Joshua Toy is yet to make up his mind about whether he wants to leave the club and return to Melbourne.
There has been speculation Toy has asked to be traded to a Melbourne club so he can be closer with his family, but his manager- James Pitcher of Strategic Sports Management- says his client is still weighing up his future.
"I haven't really got any indication, at this stage, when he'll actually make his final decision," Pitcher said on the AFL website.
"But I've left the ball in his court and I'm waiting for him to get back to me."
Toy was one of the eligible 17-year-old access selections picked by Gold Coast in 2010, but would almost certainly have been a top three draft selection at the 2010 NAB AFL Draft.
