Rory Sloane - Adleaide Crows

Position: MID

Price: $469,200 (Fanplanner) (52nd most expensive midfielder)

2011 Games: 21

2012 Games: 18

2011 Average: 86.2

2012 Average: 91

2012 Tons: 7 and 4 scores in the 90's.

Reminds me of: A young Lenny Hayes.

Summary: The most hyped player before round 1 (arguably) didn't seem to live up to his premium-type potential. Has definitely established himself in the Crows fast improving midfield. Has shown he has a very nice ceiling with the 22 year old knocking out a massive 150 against the Dockers in round 10 this year.

Verdict: Again, not next year. Will be a DT stud in a few years I feel. Just needs to get out from under those packs and out in the open more ;)

Ele's prediction: I think he'll improve but not dramatically. I see 98-102.

Verdict: Not for me... Yet. Will be a premiership captain one day in my opinion but not enough improvement in the Giants next year to warrant a place.

Crows*  ;)

Oops, I forgot to do the verdict hahaha. This is copied from the Callan Ward one :-[ :P

Ricochet

haha the old copy and paste works every time... well nearly  :P

Windigo

The Sloane Ranger will be a real gem in years to come.

But an unjustifiable selection next year from the start, unless he destroys pre-season.  :P

funny you say that, whenever i saw the crows i felt he was playing too much outside to be dt relevant, seemed to be wing/half forward most of the season - yes he is a hard nut, but seemed like VB/tommo/danger and even matty wright later in the season were in at a lot more centre bounces etc

he will be a dt gun at some point though u'd think

Adamant

Yeah, he slowed down a bit in the second half of the year.

Gee the Crows are building an elite midfield group! I love watching Sloane, but I think he is maybe another year away from consistently dominating games. One Thompson retires he will likely be consistently part of their starting midfield group, where currently he is in and out.

2014 is the go for me.

Dangerman, Sloaneburger, Crouch, Toumpas :o

+Matty Wright, Bernie, Smith, Kerridge ;D

Slone won't be an elite DT next year no, but he could do an Ebert like season

Sometimes regretted not starting with him this past season, believe he will be a SC gun more then a DT one but should still be DT relevant in years to come.
Cost too much for next season, some people could use him for a nice POD. Could very well average over 100.
Just from my limited observations he seems to have a good kick - handball ratio would that be true?

Kellogscrunchynut

Banked on a big season from him this year, and he let me down in the business end of the year.

tbagrocks

he gets all the hard balls and does handball out a lot, but he has nice outside run to and can finish with a goal.

Thanks for that Tbag like I said have'nt seen a heap of him this season.

Ricochet
