Josh Prudden

Birthday - 6/9/94
182cm/76kg
Murray Bushrangers
Price/Position - $102,700 Def/Mid

Drafted Round 3 Pick 50 Western Bulldogs

Yet another midfielder to have found his way on to the Western Bulldogs list, Prudden has barely played at TAC level in the last couple of years, managing 11 games through 2011 and 2012. He did however captain Assumption College, a team coached by former Bulldog Scott Wynd. When he did get on the park for the Bushrangers this year he proved to be a consistent DT scorer - 64, 88, 81, 63, 76, 65 and 65 for an average of 71.7 from his seven games. The Dogs obviously liked what they saw (no doubt Wynd played a part in that) but we'll have to wait and see if it translates into any game time in 2013.

Murray Bushrangers Talent Manager Andrew Carson says: “Josh has combined the past two TAC Cup seasons with the Bushrangers with his commitments to his school football at Assumption College. Whilst his time in the Bushrangers has been limited, Josh has shown he is a terrific inside midfielder who has clean hands and makes great decisions with the ball, especially under pressure."

Westernbulldogs.com - A workhorse around stoppages, the 18 year old will bolster the Bulldogs growing midfield stocks but also  has the ability to play in defence. Prudden is a hard runner who is accurate by foot and possesses strong leadership skills. He had limited exposure during the TAC Cup this season playing only seven games for the Murray Bushrangers but was a favourite of school (Assumption College) football coach, former Bulldog Scott Wynd.

has it been picked up on here the coloquhoun is apparently getting selected in the PSD by port which means he will go straight to their senior list, i would say he is more then a decent chance to play round 1, back into calculations

It has most certainly been picked up on roti. ;)

Clay Cameron

Birthday - 27/5/94
192cm/83kg
Mt.Gravatt
Price/Position - $102,700 Def/Fwd

Drafted Round 3 Pick 58 Gold Coast

Cameron is a multi-talented athlete who has struggled with OP in previous years but seems to be getting back to full fitness. He played three games in the Under 18 Championships putting in scores of 66, 36 and 17 and starred in the Combine, recording top ten results in the vertical leap, running leap and 20m sprint. Clay was limited to just one NEAFL game this season but in 2011 played 7 games for Mt.Gravatt, kicking 9 goals and being named in the best twice. As a developing KPP his DT prospects aren't particularly good but Gold Coast might give him a run at some stage. I wouldn't anticipate any high scores though.

Kevin Sheehan says: “Tall defender who can go forward. Quick and agile key forward who can also play in the backline. Strong overhead, with excellent natural leap and clean hands. A real competitor who had injury interrupt his start to the 2012 season. Played the final three games of the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships, showcasing his strong hands and versatility. AIS-AFL Academy member.”

Marcus Ashcroft says: "He is a big size - 192cm and mid-80kgs - and we think, for a player that is 18 years of age, he still has a lot of room for growth and development. He is really versatile and he can play forward, back and also in the midfield. We would like to think he is a chance to play NAB Cup and if he plays well there, who knows."

Josh Saunders

Birthday - 31/8/94
183cm/88kg
Geelong Falcons
Price/Position - $102,700 Def/Mid

Drafted Round 2 Pick 43 St Kilda

A speedy and versatile midfielder, Saunders split his time between Geelong College and the Falcons this year. He performed well at the Champs, playing the first three games for scores of 92, 55, 57. In the TAC he was named in the best for 4 out of 12 games and scored 92, 90, 82, 89, 112, 85, 61, 91, 82, 100, 104 and 93 (Ave: 90). Aside from Josh the only other midfielder picked up by the Saints during the draft was Wright so I don't think he's got a lot of competition in that respect.

If Saunders does indeed get M/D DPP then he looms as an interesting smoky. If you see him named Round 1 or he hits the bubble mid-season then I'd strongly suggest giving him a good look.

Kevin Sheehan says: Medium midfielder/defender with terrific run & carry. Tested very well at State Draft Combine with 14.10 beep and 2.96sec 20m Sprint.

St Kilda Recruiter Tony Elshaug says: “He really improved in the second half of the season. He played on the inside in the midfield, played on a wing, had a very good finals series. He is a very determined young man and can really carry the ball. He has good speed and endurance. He is a good person who tested well at the combine and runs hard from start to finish.”

#292
Aidan Corr

Birthday - 17/5/94
195cm/86kg
Northern Knights
Price/Position - $125,200 Def

Drafted Round 1 Pick 14 GWS

Irish born Corr has quickly adapted to AFL footy despite only taking up the game in the last couple of years. He's capable of playing forward or back but has mostly been used in defensive roles and his stats tend to reflect that. In 10 games during 2012 he scored 13, 38, 76, 84, 57, 73, 29, 30, 72 and 81 (Ave: 55.3). Aidan's best performance in the Champs resulted in a score of 45. He feels a bit like Matthew Buntine 2.0 - a GWS first round draft pick who will suck in a few coaches but is unlikely to have the JS or scoring to be a worthwhile pick.

Kevin Sheehan says: Tall defender who is extremely competitive by nature and spoils aggressively. Has good speed and agility for a tall and uses the ball well by foot to advantage. Takes a strong mark and can go forward to good effect. Injured just prior to Round 4 and 5 of the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships and missed the final two matches. AIS-AFL Academy member.

Looks like Kane Mitchell might be going to Collingwood. :)

http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/articles/2012/12/06/collingwood-look-to-mature-runner/

It's great for him to learn from the best at the pies under Swanny, Pendles, Ball, Beams and of course Bucks, not good for a dt point of view unless at least one of the pies premium mids goes down or Kane impresses in training and nab cup.

Also two Claremont boys in that list above Craigy :D :D :D Martin and Hogan, both guns. We're a flowering dynasty, won the league two years in a row, two reserves titles in a row and getting a whole load of our boys going into the afl (Tom Lee, Mitchell, Hogan and Martin)

then there is the tragedy that is Dayle Garlett

Top 10 talent but booze and cigarettes got in the way of him realising his AFL dream; likely that he'll be overlooked in the PSD and rookie drafts, wouldn't mind if the Crows took a punt on him though because we could use his outside pace, but whether the reward outweighs the risk is unknown

Mr.Craig

I'll start adding profiles for some of the new PSD/RD draftees later today.

Don't know a lot myself but I'll look into him further. Vice captain of the Murray Bushrangers, a forward, suffered injuries this season. Kicked 7 goals in a match vs Geelong.

Edit - Sounds like he might be a mid actually. I'll do a profile for him in the next few days. :)

Leigh Osborne

Birthday - 13/4/90
186cm/84kg
Frankston
Price/Position - $125,300 Def

Drafted - Pick 2 Rookie Draft Gold Coast

Mature aged Osborne has finally been given his shot at the AFL thanks to Gold Coast. His journey has involved quitting football for a time, playing at suburban level and then making his way to Frankston in 2012 where he was a standout performer and named in the VFL Team Of The Year. Despite being 22 he matched it with his younger rivals at the Combine, recording the third best time in the 20m sprint and the fourth best time in the repeat sprint.

During his 16 games for the Dolphins in 2012 he was named in the best 7 times and scored 71, 64, 38, 77, 63, 96, 58, 75, 88, 43, 52, 39, 52, 4, 79, 47 (Ave: 59.1). While you are unlikely to see any tons from Leigh, he is probably as good a chance as anyone of being elevated and seeing some action in 2013.

Kevin Sheehan says: “Rebounding medium defender who can also play through the midfield. Possesses a very good burst of speed and is an excellent kick on his preferred left foot. Played with the Eastern Ranges at TAC Cup level before a stint with local club East Ringwood. In 2012 he crossed to Frankston in the VFL and has become a shining light in defence averaging 17.4 disposals. Loves to run and carry the ball, can be a dangerous player when delivering inside forward 50. Accumulated a season best 28 disposals against Williamstown in Round 12.”

Marcus Ashcroft says: "Our recruiters have had their eyes on Leigh for some time, so we brought him up to do some training with us a few weeks ago, with a view to rookie-listing him. He's a quick half-back, with a booming left-foot kick, and we think he's a big chance to play senior footy in 2013."

Hey Mr.Craig would you be able to do Brett Goodes, when you get a chance?  :)

Mr.Craig

#299
Brett Goodes

Birthday - 17/2/84
183cm/94kg
Williamstown
Price/Position - $121,300 Mid/Def

Drafted - Pick 4 Rookie Draft Western Bulldogs

Another member of the VFL Team Of The Year to receive a call up to the big leagues, the 28 year old brother of Adam Goodes joined Williamstown in 2011 after winning two premierships with North Ballarat and spending a year in the Northern Territory. He is one of the elite players in the VFL and is already familiar with the inner workings of the Bulldogs through his role as their Player Welfare Manager. Brett's wealth of football experience suggests he is well positioned to be a key contributor onfield during 2013.

His DT scores this season should please prospective coaches too - 93, 85, 51, 114, 82, 77, 45, 68, 64, 98, 103, 127, 68, 85, 119, 69, 57, 117, 98 and 97 (Ave: 85.8). There's certainly a long way to go but Goodes could prove to be the mature age success story of next year, both from a football and fantasy viewpoint.

Dalrymple says: "Although Brett is 28 years of age, we see his playing age as more like 25-26, given that he hasn't done 10 AFL pre-seasons. So we think he's got more longevity than it looks at face value. He has trained with the group over the last month and has taken his training, in terms of standard and intensity, to a level that it's never been to before. He came through all the testing with flying colours. He'll add to the group in a number of ways. He ha played really well at VFL level in all parts of the ground, and we see his kicking off half-back as a boost for the team. That's a role we're very confident he could play at AFL level. With his competitiveness he's also going to be great for the whole group because he will keep everyone honest."
