Trent Cotchin (Richmond Tigers)

Position: Midfielder

Price: $522,700

2011 Games: 22

2012 Games: 22

2011 Average: 93.6

2012 Average: 110.4

2012 Tons: 17

Big games: Bulldogs (152), Essendon (145), Gold Coast (137)

Summary:
What a season! Trent Cotchin burst out of the blocks during his fifth season after a number of shortened preseasons due to injury problems. Claimed his second Jack Dyer Medal in consecutive years last week, was named in the All-Australian squad, and is even being touted a Brownlow Medal chance for this year by many. I started with him this season and couldn't be happier with his output, he is an absolute superstar, and is among the games elite at the young age of 22. Firming as favourite to become the captain of Richmond Footy Club next year, which could mean yet another lift in his output next season. Oh, and the kid knows how to handle a tag :)

Verdict:
Lock.

Predicted 2013 average: 118

Swan Ablett Cotchin = locked

he finished the year off with 10x straight 100s... hopefully that streak continues into next year

Jukes

Lock lock lock, already a star and only getting better. Reckon he could push for a 120 average.

Why do I get the feeling I am going to have a huge egg on my face next year when I probably don't start him.

Because he will be one of the highest averaging midfielders and you are thick if you don't have him!!

Can't blame me too much if I go with my current Swan, GAJ, Pendles, Murphy, Beams plan at least :P

Staying away from these young guns, after what happened with Rockliff this season.

Don't see that as a viable reason tbh...

Different circumstances, Brisbane needed an answer to the hole in their fwd line after Clark left.

This year was rocky's third, next year will be cotch's sixth.

Your loss I guess ::)

Yeah, a lot will depend on fixturing though. Would take Cotchin over Murphy if the Tigers started with GWS and GC while the Blues had Saints and Freo :P

Star. Gun. Young. Improving. Unstoppable.

What more could you ask for?

Lock.

Even at that price, he's worthy of a spot in anyone's midfield. Still yet to reach his potential as he is still young, nearing his prime.
