Grant Birchall - Hawthorn Hawks

Position: BACK

Price: $417,400 (Fanplanner)

2011 Games: 21

2012 Games: 20

2011 Average: 89.6

2012 Average: 88.6

2012 Tons: 5

Summary: Was always one fo those players who just did their role for the team and that was all, posting an avergae in the 70's from his debut year in 2006 to 2010. Alistair Clarkson's kick-to-kick game plan worked wonders for Birch as he lifted his average by a cool 12 points per game. Arguably under priced as he was subbed at 3QTR time due to a corkie in round 3 against the Crows. Was on track for a 100+ game there too.

Verdict: LOCK 'N LOAD.

Ele's prediction: Big year for him and the Hawks - 99 average.

Locked in a bank vault for next year, and nice write up.

Absolute LOCK for me too.
99 average a bit generous though?  :P

why?

he's alright, but honestly I'd prefer hanley at that price range.

why?? ok...
24 years old and averaging 89 with a sub affected 81 in round 3.
In the first 17 rounds he only dropped below 80 once
He didn't finish the season off well tho with 3 more below 80 scores
One of these was against Bombers where they won by 94 points so fair to say the ball probably wasn't in the backline that much
Should easily push a 90+ average next year and his consistency is why he is a lock for me.
Only behind Goddard, Gibbs and Grimes next year in my book.

Scrads

Locked in, reckon he will push his average into the 90-95 range.

great write ups ele :) Birch is also locked in for me

EZA100

defiantly a lock, especially if deledio and carrazzo lose their dpp's, hopefully not.

Justin Bieber

Yeah how much I like him, he won't average 99 haha. I think 94-96 at tops :)

But still solid as.
