anyone considering this guy? just bobbed onto my rader this week after reading some preseason reports/eagles website which have him flying on the track and with a view of more mid time

he showed last season he can pump out the tons, and you'd think given their pretty easy start to the season, he could knock out some big ones early doors if playing through the mids but still jagging some goals up forward

Windigo

Was still a bit up and down last year wasn't he?

I dunno. A heap of Mid/Fwd options cropping up this year. Hard to get a spot for him.

Andrew

Got that article about more midfield time? They've been saying it for a year or 2 but it just doesn't happen unless he's seeing absolutely no ball up forward. If Josh Hill can really establish himself in the forward line they might push Le Cras further up the field, but I don't have a lot of faith in Hill doing well enough to justify it - Le Cras is a star forward 50 player. Eagles midfield will be stregthened by Stevens and hopefully a more mature Masten playing regularly. With that in mind, Le Cras is a bit too expensive at over $420k.

All that being said he could go BANG BANG BANG early with his first 3 fixtures against Bulldogs, Melbourne at home and GWS...

hardnut

just can't see why they would throw him in the middle, WCE have an emerging elite midfield already and LeCras is a crucial element in the fwd 50 who takes a good defender to mind. They have picked up Hill and Dick to strengthen their small fwd stocks you will see him in there occasionally to give the mids a chop-out but he doesn't seem that well suited to clearances more a wing style player. I don't think he'll ever be a super elite DT man (maybe SC) but if he can touch 90ppg with F/M eligibility that is still not too bad just not for me.

Off Tap

He's been steadily increasing his scores over the last 4 years however he would now need to spend more time in the middle than he does in the forwardline to get himself into the 90's. I don't think this is going to happen as he's more valuable kicking goals than he is running around in the centre.

It would be a big call for WCE for this to occur and I don't see who's on their list who will be a fill in for him up forward if they do move him into the guts.

Colliwobblers

agreed i got him in the fwd line 90% of the time and scoring mid 80 average again this year , too up and down and too expensive, too many other options at his price also, but shame, he is capable of being a dt/sc gun

Holz

i think he will increase his average even if he is playing up forward most of the time, unfortunately with all the midfielders being named as forward there is no longer a need to take risks on guys like lecras, watts, Nroo just go the easy option and pick up a midfielder.

ShaynoB

he was on my watch list when i did it in Oct last year but now its come to the crunch i just dont have room. The only thing for me thats saving him is the fact he has the round 11 bye. I have no other FWDS with that bye (except GWS) so that could be the difference...

I agree this is frustrating, our DT's are starting to look like all Australian teams with midfielders basically shoe-horned into every line further diminishing the variation in teams. It's enough to make you play SC as KPP;s gets some credit....almost  ;)

The Silent Partner

LeCras will keep playing as he has been his scores can fluctuate greatly. I agree with previous posts plenty of other fwd mid options I see better scores from the Shuhorn and hope they give some more midfield and game time for the Gaff to hook onto!

Just Clancy

After reading this article i think he might be a great player to start with.

Averaged 86 last year and could easily get to around 95 if he plays in the midfield this year.

Thoughts?

+1

Have been considering him for a while now, but may not make the cut.  Will see what NAB Cup brings.

Agreed. Probably won't get him. Going with Gray ATM. But in 50 odd days things are guaranteed to change.

Jukes

He's a White Goodman and no space for them in my team.

Apart from Heath Shaw.
