Hey all

Interested in your thoughts on this effort

DEF: B. Goddard, B. Deledio, H. Shaw, J. Grimes, B. Lake, M. Clarke, S. Morris (B. Smedts, B. Wilkes)
MID: S. Pendlebury, G. Ablett jnr, J. Selwood, M. Barlow, S. Clifton, D. Zorko (A. Miles, D. Shiel)
RUC: A. Sandilands, M. Leuenberger (J. Giles, O. Stephenson)
FWD: L. Franklin, D. Martin, S. Sidebottom, J. Brown, J. Porplyzia, A. Tomlinson, A. Saad (T. Walsh, S. Rowe)
CASH LEFT: $105,600

Some initial thoughts:
- Lake + Grimes might be pushing my luck a little too far
- 5 GWS players.  I wouldn't any more than that I would think
- No B/C DPP link (any B/C rookies likely that I have missed?)
- Haven't gotten too precious about bye coverage at this stage.

Rucks are pretty flexible.  Could easily go Mummy or McEvoy.  Looking closely at HMac also as a way to bank some extra coin.  One option might be Sandi/Leuen => HMac then Lake => Broughton

Thanks for the input

its a good team,,
thats the problem with taking barlow is the bye share with the ultra mid-premiums
and u know the risks u have with the mid-price players, so thats the gamble everyone will have
ummm all in all i think this sort of team will be the standard solid blue-print team/structure, pretty safe and secure.

Good team - You have identified the risks with Lake and Grimes. IMO Grimes is the bigger risk  as it is extremely hard to come back from these types of injuries,
I have picked up on the Barlow bye issue and am considering what options are available and one I am considering is Rich who is around the same price and with the extra attention that Rockliff will receive he may receive more freedom and get back to 2009 form.
If looking for B/C DPP look at thes rookies pre season Luke Brown, Thomas Bugg, Kyall Horsley; Aaron Hall.  Sam Docherty is also a DPP but he may not be playing from round 1 and may be downgrade target.
Do not be fussed by the number of GWS as I am assuming very few will be keepers and will be gone by Round 11.
Not a H Mac fan in ruck due to the fact that Goldie will be number one and it may be hard to get the SC points required.
I would use portion of you $105k to upgrade Grimes.

Appreciate the feedback guys

Hear what you're saying about Grimes.  I maintain he's born for SC, but if he's not seen through the NAB then I will most likely jump off him (and as mentioned spend the extra to go Broughton) and maybe keep Lake.

Did notice the bye issue with the midfielders - figure I'm going to have to work around this at some stage.  Of my three ultra premiums Selwood is probably the one I'm most flexible on.  Could flip to Priddis for example who I can't see taking a backward step.  Definitely want to keep on Barlow.  Personally I think Rich is a little riskier - I know that Rock and Redden are emerging, but Rich's kick is too damaging to leave him unchecked (especially with J Brown back as a target).

Kyal Horsley seems to be the popular pick as C/D will keep him in mind once the teams starts playing.  Ta for that.

Everyone seems to think Goldstein is going to do the bulk of the ruck at North.  I'm not 100% sure about that.  I think Goldstein  is a more natural forward than H-Mac.  It wouldn't surprise me if North tried to strech opposition defences using Dish & Goldie - whilst H-Mac rucks primarily and rests up forward.   If anyone has a link to an article saying otherwise I'm happy to read it.

all the best guys
