I am not content with this team as of yet, as there is a lack of strength in both the forward and midfield, i personally think i need one more mid range/premium player in each the forward and midfield.. what and who do you think i should switch around and add?

Backs - Grimes malceski lake all injury worries bit of a risk having all 3 could down grade 1 to upgarde another

Mids - quite solid, hayes is the only concern im a saints fan and i hope he does get back to form but of a risk but could pay off

Rucks - I would swap Hmac for trent west  west should be number 1 at geelong and averaged 76 last year

Foward - roo and brown are a risk together once agian i hope roo gets back to form but i wouldnt gamble on both, brown is cheaper and capable of the same the money you save on roo you could do your upgrades

Backs - Drummond malceski lake and grimes all gambles i would downgrade one and upgrade another

Mids - solid i like scully bit unique havent seen him in alot of teams could be a good one,
could possibly downgrade Consiglio so many more cheaper option (trealor/ zorko could be good to give you mpp for d martin )

Rucks - i would Swap hmac for trent west same price more oppurtunity

Fowards - upgrade roo with spare cash from downgrading Consiglio

Yeah just a rough draft, Thanks Jaycav for that, i will go more into depth with the rookies when the nab cup is on, and i would rather keep Hmac instead, i think he can come back to form and will be on the field all the time whether its forward or ruck, him and goldstein likely to be swapping as he's a premium ruckman himself when fit. and who would you get for Roo if you were to upgrade him?

this is yet another draft i just made, took some of your points into account and tried to make a team from what you pictured a better one, how does that sound?

Hi mate, here's my take on your team:

DEF: Risky. Would you seriously pick Lake before even seeing if he's good to go? He's cheap because of how terribly bad he was last year. Grimes isn't much better.

MID: Good, though maybe you could downgrade Coniglio to another rookie and use the cash saved to upgrade someone else.

RUCK:  Ok, but I think your two on-field ruckmen should be the #1 ruck at their club. HMac isn't anymore.

FWD: Weak. NRoo is too risky, get rid of him. Watts is a dud, dont let the fact that you're a Dees supporter blind you to how much of a waste of cash Watts is. You won't score enough points with this fwd setup to win against decent teams. I like that you've got Dustbin Martin up fwd, for mine I think that DPP Mid/Fwd players are best used up forward, there really aren't that many KPP fwd's to choose from. So stack up with midfielders to generate points. Look at Fyfe, Zaha etc.

Backs: Good premiums, would downgrade malceski/lake to a rookie or perhaps bower/clarke

Mids: Two good captain choices, and 4 keepers if more than enough to start (if you think hayes will be a keeper)

Ruck: Hmac is risky, could pay off but id be holding on on him for now.

Fwds: Combonation off riewoldt, watts, brown scares me, one could pay off but all three is risky.

Rating: 6/10

Suggestions: - Downgrade Malceski to Bower, should score similar but much cheaper. Downgrade Coniglio to Clifton/Zorko
                   - Use that downgrade money, plus that in the kitty to upgrade Watts or Riewoldt to a premium such as Fyfe, Pav, Cloke, or Goodes.
                   -If enough cash is left over upgrade Grimes to Birchill/Fisher or other premium def.

For the the same you can get Zaharakis instead of petrie giving you mpp also look at getting a rookie mpp in mid to swap with maybe trealor/ zorko would give you more flexibility plus Zaharakis will be more likely of higher consistant scores being a mid/fwd

Would like some constructive criticism and feedback on this team, where to position players better, what players to swap for who etc, and also how to improve the Ruck, i don't see Sam Jacobs as the premium ruckman i need, i feel as if i need Leuenberger or higher, and im not completely sold on the 3 rookie ruck combination. But in doing so i can make the team to become a more talent filled team. Thanks

I couldn't trust Hayes this year. You need to also have a Premium Ruck. May be remove Barlow, and add in Sandilands or Mumford.

+1 for what Damoz said re: not starting Hayes - although i dont mind the rookie rucks.

I am not trusting of Grimes.

Too much cash spent on the notoriously variable forwards - i would lose say Sidey and upgrade Hayes to a super premo (Pendles/Ablett).

I know I know it's boring and predictable - nevertheless these guys are key to having a good ranking. More often than not they will score well early and late too.

Backs: I like scotland, somewhat unique this year and his age is no reason not to pick him when he has been extremely durable up untill now. I may be wrong but cant think of him missing too many games in recent years.

Mids: Not a big fan of sidebottom, others look good, not sold on hayes but can see how he could be a good option.

Rucks: Enough has been said about whether to start with 1 or 2 premiums so I'm not going to comment on that, but if you are going to start with 1 premium I would try and upgrade Jacobs to Sandi, Mumford, Goldstein.

Fwds: Like the inclusion of Goodes, like scotland, not many seem to have him this year from all the teams I've looked at. Not sold on having both brown and porplyzia, risky.

Rating 7.5/10, looking better than your first team I think.

My suggestion, downgrade sidebottom to a rookie with m/f if needs be to keep your mpp. Then with the cash upgrade Jacobs > Mumford/Leun/Gold and Hayes/Barlow > Ablett/Murphy. Then you will still have 4 starting premiums in the mids which should be more than enough with all the good rookies going around in the mids to make you cash.
