2011    17    91.5

2011 Wrap - great season 7 tons 4 over 120 high of over 140. couple of average scores dragging his average down to 91.5 but a fairly consistant year, needs to behave himself and avoid suspension as was not able to do this in 2011.

Not much out there in the way of news and no info really we don't already know.

Premium Player Rating (RUCK) 8.5/10 - a rising star in DT already there in SC. Should average high 90 this season, need him to watch himself and not get suspended again for rough silly conduct but that is his only downside, a rugges hard at it ruckman who is prolific and effiecient. Safe option for a #1 or #2 ruck.

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 7/10 - should play early and play well, afl ready and tough and big and strong and tall, but may be a key position forward, may lead up the ground take a lot of marks and kick a few bags, guaranteed to tackle like a machine around the stoppages too. Still not the most favoured DT position player but one to watch as he should get games and is ready to go, has had a full preseason so lets see.

2011 DT Wrap: 15 tons in 20 games, his last 11 games of the season, ALL TONS, high of 151, 3 x 90+ one 80 and a lowly 59. Brilliant season and finished at a million miles an hour and all in a poor performing side. 2012 will see it more closely described as a rapidly improving side, Brown back and in form gives the mids a target and straightens them up, a lot of quality new kids coming in a great ruckman and with a healthy backline this season I expect 120+ from Rocky.

Premium Player Rating (MID) 9.2/10 - I don't know why the .2 but lets just say becasue he is above 9. In the ELITE premium midfield category and will average 120+ this season all going well. An absolute gun, club b&f, great preseason and trip to arizona, better team, more seasoned himself. Just plus plus plus, if you don't prefer Redden or haven't gone Thompson for the ease of his draw you can go ahead and LOCK Rockliff he isn't going to let anyone down in 2012, heck maybe you can lock any two of those 3.

Currently gone with Selwood over Rocky but it's 50/50 atm. I think Rocky will find a way in before round 1.

Are you able to shed a little light on Melbourne recruit Jai Sheahan?

Seems a strange price for a rookie (~$110k) and a KPP to boot...

Season 2011 Wrap - Started with a bang as well all know and finished with a flop. That said he still managed 3 tons in hte back half of the season to go with his 6 in a row in the front half. Ok it wasn't 6 in a row it was ton-97-5 tons close enough to 7 in a row really. and another 96 to the back half of the season and what really happened was a slump in the middle. Jobe had too much on his plate and not enough help with the workload, as simple as that. Given a healthy team around him he should have a much better 2012.

Ok so another case of no news, could be good news. I can tell you a few things about the bombers and their captain. They are toughening up and bulking up, working on endurance but more so strength in a bid to better run games out. At his ripe old age Watson is not the focus for this kind of work but he is set to be the beneficiary with tougher and fitter players around him he is set to see more ball, easier ball and last out the season better. I expect a better 2012 with the slump eliminated to a great extent leading to an increased average of between 5 and 15 points, tho 15 is a stretch at that already high level.

Premium Player Rating 8.5/10 - only reason not a 9 like the other elite midfielders I have researched is the "fear factor" of last seasons slump. But the lower price just about makes up for that, pick him with confidence.

mate watson didnt suffer a "slump" he got injured twice so he got bad scores the games he got injured and the comeback games also gave not great scores if he doesnt get injured this year he could be a top 5 player in the comp easy

Colliwobblers

ok so your a bombers fan :) but fair point slump hump bump, wahtever, the injury caused his DT output to slump.

I'll stand corrected and he will come close to top 5? more likely top 10, but we will see. I don't think ANYONE missed the impressive output we saw right off the bat last season could be a good unique being on that round 12 bye not many will have him before round 13.

He might deserve a 9 is that what your saying or just want me to retract slump ? :)

Hey Colli, just wondering if your rating of Jack Grimes has changed given his captaincy?
Cheers mate :)

No Mate, it doesn't really other than looking at my write up now maybe I should have said skill/ability 9/10 instead of 8/10. He is a very good player.

The captaincy (co) and i love both these players i would love to pick tregove too breakout year IMO another GUN! but maybe not for 2012.

Oh sorry back to Grimes, if anything the co-captaincy means that he looks to be in great health and the club / playing group BELIEVE he will be over his injury run.

It doesnt change anything he couldnt have gotten much better as a player, it just MIGHT change his liklihood of being good for a full season (obviously being captain in itself doesn't change that) but the confidence of players coaches and club to elect him captain might hint at his health and fitness.

Make sense. In any case if he wasn't the number 1 pick for your mid priced defender he probably should be now, I have conca, anyone got $60K they can lend me till mid season, I'm good for it honest.... ;)

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 6/10 - what a mystery this guy is and i wonder if anyone else can shed some light on why as a mature age recruit (thats why the higher price) , that the hawks were chasing for the draft pick, he slipped right through the entire draft unpicked, just to then be called to go to the Dee's and "try out", which led to him being takn at 6 in the rookie draft by the dee's. Well he looks like a player, sure he is a key forward who can halp out in the ruck, and the Dee's articles mention using him down back, which makes him LESS attractive, no goals to boost DT scored down back. So he looks a solid player anyway, still has a way to go but all rookies do, But needs to be promoted off the rookie list (Green is the Dee's only veteran) and they have 3 players who debut last year including Evans & nicolsen, then there is couch and magner on the rookie list also. I am not sure trherefore he will see an AFL game all year this season, which is strange given he was best and fairest in his club and is going to be 20 this season.... but there it is. and that is the reason for the low score. Skill - 7.5/10

2011 DT: 2 tons a high of 122. Has a good ceiling even for a first year showed great potential, lethal left boot, average season overall which was to be expected better seasons to come as the suns get better.

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 7.5/10 - 2nd year player so there is some risk of him remaining mid priced, hence the lowish rating for a clearly skilled player with a CANNON for a kick. Love to watch him play and the midfield will LOVE to get the ball out to him, so if not a huge year this year it will be in 2013. News is he has a knee niggle he needs to get right so he is off to arizona to get over the injury GARBAGE!!!! never trust a football club NEVER!!! - I say they are taking the 4 guys with the most potential (that arent already in peak fitness) to arizona to get them in peak fitness. Watch teams listing for round 1 if any of the 4 that went to arizona are listed CONSIDER THEM, I will be with Caddy, because if they come back and play you can be confident it will be in great form and fitness. I think if fit and picked round 1 mckenzie can get to mid 80's this season which would be great for his price but he could stay 70 something also.
