thoughts on nathan van berlo? is he on anyones radar? i personally never really rated him in dt terms, but took notice of his dramatic increase in dt output immediately after neil craig left.

does anyone (crows supporters?) know if sanderson is going to keep him in the new role that bickley gave him?

unfortunately not much news outta the crows camp about VB.
He's killing it on the track but sando hasn't really let much out about
individual players. This pre-season is all about adding more of a
physical presence on field and learning the game plan. He has also stated that alot more players will
get rotated through the midifeld

Tex-Factor

i hope and think he will improve but i doubt he will maintain any where near that freakish form he showed towards the end of last season. he may improve 5-10pts MAYBE. so not really worth it. worth watching in pre season tho for sure.

His run of 100s last year as soon as Bickley freed him up was amazing and also showed what Neil Craig had been doing to our DT scores. Will have to see how he goes under Sanderson's coaching though. If Bickley was coach I'd have him in my team I reckon.

Interesting quote, I wonder what that will mean for players like Knights and Dangerfield... NVB went ballistic at the end of last year, I will be watching NAB form closely but with Scotty T a near ;lock in my team I doubt he'd squeeze in.

yeah lots of ppl seem to be showing keen interest in scotty t... but i think a van berlo or even a vince is likely to be the main beneficiary of the crows easy draw and likely improvement in the team, and as such van berlo is on my radar given the form he showed with a role change

although scotty t is a gun (had him last year), his scoring was slightly frustrating when he often racked up colossal possessions but still got relatively small dt hundreds for all the effort, whereas van berlo or vince (when they're not shower or in shower roles) seem to be able to get large dt scores with much fewer possessions --- probably got something to do with scotty t having much more of an inside/clearance role

Nathan Van Berlo

In his last 6 games, he averaged a touch under 122!  Those last 6 games read:
120 vs Port Adelade
137 vs Brisbane
102 vs Geelong
126 vs Gold Coast
143 vs Richmond
102 vs West Coast

Adelaide have a super easy draw as we know, playing 2 x Port, 2 x GC and 2 x GWS = he should have 6 games of over 110pts. He's also the captain of a club which needs to step up, so he should lift his skill to another level this year providing a good role model for all new players coming through.

He's a bit awkwardly priced, but he could easily be a 4th MID in front of Barlow sitting at #5

Just a bit of a good fact:The other thing he has is durability, he hasn’t played any less than 19 games over the last 6 years.

Just have to watch him carefully under the reigns of Sando in the NAB CUP.

what are your guys' thoughts?

Good to see your looking for a unique mate. His a good player and that end of year was run was unbelievably awesome.

I dunno if I should go Vanny over Stanton. $462, 700 is a lot cheaper and could potentally be 105+ scorer.... And he could be a good pick over Barlow for a little extra.

I'll see how he goes but he definitely came home like a freight train last season. Hm.

P.S: Those tons were Vs some of the weaker teams. Apart from Geelong & West Coast?

essendon2

yes I know but Adelaide play one 'top 8' team twice and play GWS and GCS twice!

Dude. I'm considering him. But his start of the year his hard to look at. Even though he slayed late.

I must have missed this article. Cheers.  ;)

Gooner

Great shout for a unique.  He's awkwardly priced but could become a keeper this season.

the article literally came out 15 minutes ago! ahah

and yes Gooner but I'm not sure about starting with Swan after reading the article either, might go with Stanton/Gibbs/Rocky and upgrade VB to Thompson
