Welcome Noz!

I'm personally not a fan Pittard, but your team looks strong. You've gone with Lake/Winderlich/Porpoise combo, and I doubt all 3 will return to good form, but couldn't tell you which!

Reckon a lot of people will start Giles and regret it.

Ringo

Welcome Noz.

You have a few too many players retuning from injury for my liking (add Drummond to Ossies list).  Maybe even look at downgrading to a gun rookie and upgrade Rucks.  If James McDonald is named and has a reasonable pre season suspect he will be in majority of teams at a price of $106k. (maybe a downgrade for Winderlich)

I too do not like Giles as second ruck prefer to set and forget Rucks with 2 prems  and both Cox and Giles have bye in Round 11 and Spencer and Stephenson in Round 12. Have a look at prem rucks with byes in Round 12 & 13 and you will have a set and forget.

Noz

Thanks guys will take your comments into consideration.

Had a dream about starting Jordan Roughead as my 2nd ruck what do you guys think about him?

Worst comes to worst i will downgrade Winderlich to McDonald or Conigilo and upgrade Spencer/Giles.

Going to wait and see how Armstrong, Gibson, Steven and Monfries all go in the pre season mayber i might sneak 1 or 2 in.

Thank you for your feedback guys

goodes generally starts slow, so you could move winderlich to forwardline for goodes then get a premium in the mid( barlow if you want to save some cash)
i would recommend not going drummond,, there would be alot of coaches on here that have been burnt by him in the past, a very risky/injury prone player.

Hey Noz - sorry but this squad is way too risky laden for mine.

Bacs - Ok, Johncock disappointed last year and i dont see him improving much on last year really. Lake - just a big question mark hanging there.

Mids - Ok - effectively you have a stacked defence meaning a 3-3 starting structure. I would prefer Murphy/Selwood if i were to start a three rook midfield.

Rucks - No No No to Hmac - two achilles ops last year just tooo risky. The rucks need to be as solid as possible imo.

Fwds - Cyril is a real soft tissue risk for mine - i know that they have tried to alter his action but yeah scary. Christensen - not sure why we all thibk he's going to make top 10 forwards unless he gets significant mid time he'll be up and down like a yoyo. JB also represents some risk also.

Yeah Noz i feel a crows fan here - too many mid priced risks - risk in every line - cant really see where the 10 mill has been spent.

My feeling here - ditch Hmac and Christensen at the very least - for say a cheapie and maybe Jacobs (no reason why he cant improve). With any spare cash upgrade Thommo to Selwood - he seems to be priced at least 10-15 points cheaper than he should be - a veritable gun at a bargain price!

About 5/10

Ringo

A little too risky for me at this stage too.

Backs: I think a lttle heavy maybe downgrade one of Johncock or Lake to a rookie.  Docherty may have a delayed start to the season due Hip surgery. I would look at switching Goddard  and Docherty and replacing him with Luke Brown to give you back/mid DPP. Backs would then be Delidio. Shaw, Goddard. Duffield. Johncock/Lake, Rookie, Clarke. Ellis, Wilkes
Mids: Ablett, Swan. Thompson, Clifton, Arndt, Kavanagh, Brown, Crozier (May need another prem here with money as a result of back downgrade and upgrade one of rookies)
Rucks I would replace H Mac with Trent West at virtually the same price and West will be No 1 Ruck at Geelong initially.
Forwards would not start Goodes as you would have seen from other posts due to his traditional slow start each year. So look at replacing him with similar priced forward, Cyril is now a risk for me with dodgy hammies,

Watch the pre season to get an indication on finalising teams.

Overall 6/10

Backs: Goddard, Deledio, Rhyce Shaw, Duffield, Lake, Clarke, Ellis (Docherty, Brown)
Mids: Ablett, Swan, Selwood, Thompson, Horsley, Bartlett (Arnot, McDonald)
Rucks: Leuenberger, McEvoy (Giles, Stephensen)
Forwards: Franklin, Fyfe, Martin, Brown, Porpylzia, Pfeifer, Saad (Smetds, Crozier)

Cash left: $23,200

4INAROW

backs: ryche shaw is a dud, duffield may get back to his best of '08 bout a 91.5 ppg or may not, depends on ross lyons plans for him and docherty is just coming off and op and may not be ready for round 1.

mids: gaj, swan, selwood- great, thompson imo wont improve on last year and wont be in the top 10 mids this year but thats just me, dunno much bout bartlett and arnot, but horsely is a gun if he plays rd 1, he's a lock for me, and mcdonald should be good value as a mature age recruit.

rucks: standard, pretty good.

forwards:pretty good, pretty similar to mine, just watch nab cup for your rookies

7.5/10, could be 8.5 with a couple of changes.

Ringo

Backs: If Rhyce Shaw can find the form he showed in last 6 games of last year where he averaged over 100 and maintain consistency may be a nice unique for you.  Watch how Duffield is being used by Roos pre season and read the thread on him to help make up your mind.  Docherty is still training with Brisbane's rehab group so I suspect may be in doubt for round 1.

Mids OK - Disagree on Thompson as I think he will be part of the key in the Crows upward March on the ladder and with a favourable draw (And I am not a crows supporter) Bartlett may not be in Lions Round 1 despite being fit but has potential for downgrade target later in the year. Think he will be competing with Zorko and Polec for final spot. Would move Pfeiffer to mids if he plays to give you the mid forward DPP.

Rucks Set and forget barring injury

Forwards: Ok
Sound team overall but watch preseason for rookie performances and who is named in teams.

Overall rating 8/10

not sure on all 3 of shaw, duffield and lake
i understand the lure of lake and he's in and out of my team atm aswell,  cant really pass up that price as long as he plays, i would gladly take 75avg. from him.
i had duffman last year and he stunked it up all season,so i will never touch him again, but im sure he could be fine. it depends on his role with freo this year.
rhyce shaw- well i would think there are better options, but each to there own.

apart from that it looks fine,,,  also on thompson he is one of the few mid premiums with a rd. 11 bye and with a good draw , he should get atleast a 105 avg.

Noz

I think this will be the team baring injuries and poor nab cup form that i will take into round 1 a bit of a bold call but i think i might have gotten it right

Backs: Goddard, Deledio, Birchall , Duffield, Lake, Clarke, Ellis (Yagmoor, Hombsch)
Mids: Pendlebury, Ablett, Swan, Selwood, Horsley, McDonald (Brown,Clifton)
Rucks: Leuenberger, West (Giles, Stephensen)
Forwards: Franklin, Fyfe, Martin, Brown, Porpylzia, Couch, Saad (Pfieffer, Crozier)

Cash left $32,00

Yes i know Duffman is a bit of a wise selection but i do believe he will play the quarterback role for Freo. Went strong in the midfield mainly because thats why most your points come from.

Lot of water under the bridge, by round 12-13 you'd have likely used 10-15 trades. Really going to ignore the byes (within reason) this year
