Hi fellow SC enthusiasts, this is my first post here & I've decided to give you a preview of the ultimate SC side for 2012.

Well either that or i was pissed the other night & this is what i came up with.  ;D

Yep, I know mids are weak, it's a method i use to win league games.
That's pretty much what i'm after. I only chase top rankings once I'm comfortable in my leagues. That's ONE of the reasons I've never broken top 5000 probably!

However, all input is welcome.

Interesting set up with mids but as you say plenty of scope for upgrades. I would possibly consider another prem in there or you may be giving start in leagues. Best scoring SC wise for the last year has been in mids.
Rucks are set and forget can not fault.
Forwards imo Beams is overpriced especially for some one who was dropped by Collingwood.  Better value forwards around.
With rookies watch the pre season and  teams named before finalising rookies.

I realise about mids but  like I said it's a method, probably not a great one, just one that works for me.
Probably says more about the quality of opposition I have most years more that my ability as a good SC.
Mids are plentiful, ther'e BE's move up & down. It's about looking for value when the season starts,
always quality cash cows in the mids.

Beams is overpriced & i expect virtually everyone to take Martin. The reason I have Beams is his last few games
were good SC scores. So the upswing is potentially there. It's not just that however, he's been played predominately as a fwd & I think Bucks is (i've heard) going to give more of a midfield role.

It's always easier to make those calls when you "have the inside goss" lol. I've also heard another interesting tid bit about another player i rate highly.

He's not in the team yet! lol

Rookies fair enough...threw a few in coz ya gotta fill spots, really a lot of it doesn't matter yet. Be surprised If i don't punt a third of that team.

Beams wasn't dropped, he got injured.

How can he be overpriced? Did they just give him bonus points that he didn't earn? Prices are based on averages.

He got dropped and came back for the game against port adelaide that they won by about 130pts by memory

DEF: great defence if lake stands up in nab cup if not go conca.
MID: one premium short in my oppinion but good premos and good rooks
RUCK: superpower faultless
FWD: very strong , good rooks make sure rowe will start teh season or plenty of other good options.

Overall great side good premiums and mid pricers and rooks, bit light in the midfield but thats where your best cash cows are so as long as your first upgrade is to a mid premium i reckon you will do really well with this side

Thanks mate, I sought of think the team is settled until NAB. Rookies & all that will change & will obviously look at links in mids for DPP.

Forgot to mention that leaves $125k, so plenty of room to move. ;)

Fair call on the mids BUT damn, I don't chase the top prize, I'm all about the cash leagues. ;D

It's so easy to drive league wins from the midfield. Thank you workmates.

Not sold on Yarran but he helps with team balance. Not a fan of Conca sorry, he won't be in the team. I was looking at Houli but it makes my defense too Richmond centric, like Conca.

Still think there is at least one change I should do, what that is right now I have no idea!

Hey fat spider, side is looking good.  Id consider j.brown as a replacement for nroo.  Birchall a good selection.  Everyone is sold on the burger but i think he's a year away - jacobs with a great draw or sandy playing tight lyon footy with 50 h/o each week could be options. The key with ur midfield is to ensure your rookies are playing. (wingard may not play early)
Lenny hayes needs to go imo, grab urself a swan, murphy or nicky dal.

Just quietly, I'm not sold on the Burger either.

That could be the pivotal point that frees up cash for................Insane Posy Supercoach!

DPP: Have mid coverage fwd & back with Zorko & L.Brown
Have B/F coverage with Tomlinson & Smedts. Have R/F coverage with Rowe.
That's ATM, rooks will change so will effect DPP cover.

CONCERNS:
BACKS: Not sold on Broughton until we see what Liar, I mean Lyon does. Lake, wait & see.May look cheaper than M Clarke depending on NAB. Same with Tomlinson, only in as I don't see many i fancy with B/F DPP besides him & Smedts. Thoughts?

MIDS: Lightish will look to upgrade to Murphy ASAP. Not sold on McDonald, how games will he get (may go Miles or Clifton). Nor T. Mitchell, Swans tend to be cautious when blooding Newbs.

Rucks: Think (hope) Kreuz should av better this yr. His price goes up a bit, someones goes down, throw in a bit of cash & bingo, we pick a Prem. Coz it's just that easy. :P

FWDS: Happy but may look for more value in NAB & downgrade J.Brown.

CASH: only $1,900

Look it's no where near settled, discount all rookies pretty much, mitchell, rowe, kavanagh unlikely to make the cut, you know why. Lake NAB etc. Broughton where is he gunna be palyed, if Stiffy Viagra is playing in the mids during NAB then Shaw may go as Clarke maybe worth keeping through the byes etc.
