Graham Moss

Another ruckman, I know, but a fantastic one at that. He was the dominant ruckman in the WAFL for a good portion of his career until Moss finally accepted one of dozens of offers made to lure him East. Once he got the Victoria he played for Essendon, and was an absolute sensation, winning the Brownlow in 76 before doing his knee and returning to Claremont, then (coming of a major knee injury) he one Claremont's B&F in 77. He was simply streets ahead of his opposition everywhere in every way possible.
One of the best you'll come across, in 343 senior games (State rep, VFL, WANFL) he won a Brownlow Medal, 4 Claremont B&Fs, 3 Essendon B&Fs, 20 WA rep games, 15 Vic Rep games, a premiership captain and coach.
Not many others can say they have done all that. He'll be more than handy for me.

Second emergency...:
John Todd

John Todd made headlines when in 1955, as a 17 year old, he became the person ever to win a Sandover Medal. His record stands to this day and may never be beaten. He also won South Fremantle's B&F AND represented the state this season. Truly admirable stuff.
The next year the state was sent into shock when he did a serious knee injury which at the time appeared as though it would end his career. But Todd was tough and his passion for football far too great for him to give in, he returned in 1958 and once again won South Fremantles Best and Fairest award.
Injuries continued to trouble the lad but his talent shone through and in 1961 he won South Fremantle's B&F for a third time and was prominent in WA's Carnival victory and was selected for the All Australian Squad.
Todd has become a constant reminder that even the most gifted of footballers can be cut down by injury, and no doubt his story is unnerving for those who have struggled with fitness. Perhaps had his body not been so cruel o him he could have become the greatest footballer ever, we'll never know. Nevertheless his courage and footballing ability hold him in good stead as one of Western Australia's finest, and I'll be glad to add him to my team.
