Alright. I can't believe I'm going to do this...

...my next pick for the All-Time Draft is another player that has amazingly slipped down the list. It is also another CHF.

Yep, I'm picking The Kid.

Dermett Brereton played 189 games for Hawthorn, 7 for Sydney and 15 for Collingwood in a career that spanned 14 years. Over that period of time he kicked 464 goals, won 5 premiership medals, was best and fairest and leading goalkicker for Hawthorn in 1985, All-Australian in 1985 too, and represented Victoria 9 times.

But while his achievements are grand, his playing style was brutal. He was once quoted as saying, "You'd look to take somebody out, and wilfully take them out, within the rules". His aggressive hip-and-shoulder bumps was the reason they changed the charging rule to protect players going for the ball.

But he'll be best known for his 1989 VFL Grand Final performance. He was heavily shierfronted by Geelong's Mark Yeates resulted in a concussion and a serious winding. After a stint on the bench and a vomit, he came back on to kick 3 goals and help Hawthorn to the win. It was later revealed he played the game with several broken ribs.  :o

Jeez, having both him and Jack Dyer makes for a scary team. :o I'm really surprised no one had picked him up yet. Such a quality player, I just simply couldn't overlook him. Plus it makes for an awesome HF line.  ;D

roo boys!

Bah, may as well just choose this guy ;D

Nick Riewoldt, just gave away a free kick on Hansen so I'll pick him ;)

Great forward, haven't seen Hilly's team for a while though so not sure if he already has forwards. Ah well.

Just took another mark. And goal.

But he is a champ, great leader of the club and once he can kick straight a danger up forward.

Would I be allowed to post his most famous picture? ;)

AFEV

Hilly now has 3 power forwards lol.
Coleman, Coventry and Riewoldt.

Pick number 9 is:
Bill Walker

His game was largely built around pace and attacking play, Walker was the premier mid in the WAFL during the 60's and early 70's, and is the only player to ever win 4 Sandover Medals (WAFL Brownlow.)
He was the best player for the Swan District during their era of dominance in the 60s, winning back to back to back premierships in 61, 62 & 63.
He was a 5 time best and fairest winner in a team that was at the top of the table for half a decade.
In 1967 he was named BOG in a losing GF.

He represented his state 21 times and honestly, he may be the best WA player never to leave for Victoria, the only man who'd challenge him would be (IMO) my next pick...
