c4v3m4n's number 7th pick in the All-Time Fantasy Draft is....

....Jim Stynes. (How has he not been picked yet?  :o )

Jim Stynes grew up playing Gaelic Football in Dublin, until he answered an ad in the paper from the Melbourne Football Club looking for talented Gaelic footballers (this became known as the "Irish Experiment").

Stunning recruiters, he was brought to Australia in 1984 where he played for Melbourne's U/19 team and the Prahan Football Club. In 1987 he debuted for Melbourne in their night premiership side. From then onwards, the rest the say in history.

His accomplishments (on field) include:

  • 264 senior games and 130 goals for Melbourne from 1987 to 1998
  • Out of those 264 games, 244 of them were consecutive (an AFL record)
  • Brownlow Medallist (the first player from outside Australia to win it) in 1991
  • Leigh Matthews Trophy (MVP as voted by the AFL Players Association) winner in 1991
  • Melbourne Best and Fairest winner in 1991 and from 1995 to 1997
  • All-Australian 1991 and 1993
  • Is also a member of Melbourne's "Team of the Century" and is an AFL Hall of Famer member

I'm really surprised that no-one picked him earlier. Super happy with this pick.  ;D  ;D An outstanding ruckman and a great addition to my team. My team now looks like this:

I wanted to pick someone else, but I thought it best to lock him down now.
