I've been pondering the same thing myself. However after seeing Cox rip it up in the NAB cup I'm starting to lean towards him and Jolly

Sandilands and Cox, no question. Petrie or Fraser in reserve. I can see people having real trouble this year if they don't have at least one decent back up ruck. Sandilands will be the best by a mile, but wont play every game. I considered going with Cox and Ryder, then bringing Sandi in after he has the bye. But the man is unstoppable and any team without him isn't serious.

I've put together the sc averages for these guys over the last few years vs how many games played for the year... it's hard not to have the sandi-cox combo after seeing this, but petrie's price throws a spanner into the works! I know that age and injury plays a big role too... but still, wow.

Petrie: 06 89.6 (21 games), 07 88.7 (22 games), 08 95.7 (22 games), 09 91.3 (22 games), 10 55.5 (2 games)
Jolly: 06 66.9 (22 games), 07 79.0 (22 games), 08 80.4 (22 games), 09 92.9 (22 games), 10 79.8 (22 games)
Sandi: 07 72.6 (15 games), 08 93.3 (22 games), 09 101.4 (20 games), 10 114.0 (19 games)
Cox: 05 108.0 (22 games), 06 99.2 (17 games), 07 98.0 (19games), 08 111.8 (22 games), 09 111.1 (13 games), 10 88.0 (22 games)

nice stuff there FactHunt. you are right. it is hard to go past both of them. makes me feel better about my choices already.  ;D
mind you petrie in the forwards with both of those i think could be a killer combo. trying to fit him in there now.

I had the same problem. Initially i had Sandi/petrie then with petries suspension i changed to cox/jolly and petrie to fwds (more bench cover for rd 1).

I reckon big cox is back to nearly his best (should avg mid 90's) and jolly avgd 90 after rd 10 last year and I reckon he will be able to avg that for the whole year this year (he did in 09 at swans). This pretty much means they will be number 2 & 3 rucks in the comp. Great combo and cheaper than the snadi/cox combo. IMO as always

Sorry jolly didn't quite avg 90 in "09" but was pretty close and will thrive in the collingwood line up

trying to decide this myself... in a perfect world would have sandi and cox, the only two ruckman that can average over 100 this year in my opinion. Petrie missing 2 of the first 4 games but you will kick yourself if he plays the rest of the year and averages 95 and you dont have him!

Is Sandi and Cox too much money in the rucks??? Would have to take someone like Didak/Chapman out of the forward line to do this.

Sorry they were DT avgs in my earlier post not SC
