My predicted team for round 2, barring injuries.

FB: Nathan Krakouer, Michael Coad, Jarrod Harbrow,

HB: Sam Iles, Nathan Bock (VC), Josh Toy

M: Josh Caddy, Michael Rischitelli, Daniel Harris

HF: Harley Bennell, Jared Brennan, Dion Prestia

FF: Campbell Brown, Nathan Ablett, Brandon Matera,

FOLL: Zac Smith, Gary Ablett (C), David Swallow

INT: Karmichael Hunt, Josh Fraser, Sam Day

SUB: Maverick Weller

EMG: Seb Tape, Charlie Dixon, Danny Stanley

Thoughts?

Day, Dixon or May will fight for that key forward spot, I think Day has to be the frontrunner as I've heard that even at is height is a ready made player.

Ablett has to be captain.

very nifty stuff, infact, i cant say anything agianst it. well done!!
Tough it will be interesting who the spots are going to go to for the rookies!!

roo boys!

I hope Day gets the spot as he's part of my FanPlanner Plans ;)

thanks

i think josh caddy will come close to rising star next year. maybe behind swallow

At least 1 of Harbrow or Krakouer (more likely Harbrow) will be on the Half Back Flank if not both due to their ability to create from the backline.
Would move Brennan to Half Forward Flank, Day to CHF and Slot in Dixon for FF. Bennell then replaces Harris on the Wing who replaces somebody on the bench.

Also, Fraser I would suspect would either be starting (due to lack of forward experience) or on the bench for Backup Ruck/Forward duties. Don't know alot about Stanley or Weller to be honest.

Campbell Brown will be playing back. McKenna made him a guarantee that he would always play back because he felt the lack of a consistent position at the Hawks made his less effective.

Harbrow should play on the back flank and Brown the back pocket. I think Toy will move to the bench and then I think Weller will become the sub. Josh Fraiser to forward pocket.

There is logic to this move. You don't want a ruck as a sub. You want a versatile player that could replace almost anyone, more than likely a midfielder who is flexible. Then Smith and Fraiser can rotate the ruck duties with the non ruck moving forward, keeping the rucks off the bench allowing three rotating players.

I can see your logic behind making Fraiser the sub. The idea being that the rucks simply swap at some point. However, there is the reason clubs like rotations, they work, and giving someone the ruck duties for a continuous half isn't the most effective use of them. Short stints with rests work. Also, Fraiser is an Ok ruck, but you don't want him shouldering it for an extended period of time. He is an effective forward as well and would probably take on less of the ruck work, say 30%.

interesting statement... if Sheedy were to leave.. even though Williams is his assistant now, i still think they would want a.. younger... coach mayb with some AFL experience from the rough Modern game...

Williams has the runs on the board, a good teacher for the up n coming players, so I reckon he would be a reasonable fit. (IMO)

ye i'm not too sure about Williams.... i never wanted him at Windy Hill so for the sake of GWS, i wouldnt want him as  a senior coach there either. Plus unless they get Swan, GWS have no good premiums, at least GC got Ablett...
