In front of a record low crowd of only 14 thousand the Power gutsed it home in a game that was uglier to watch than elephant seals mating.

Tom Logan was the hero, suffering headaches throughout the game (from previous weeks concussion) he threw himself over the ball in atrocious conditions to trap the ball in, get it out to Rodan? and snap the the final point to ice the game.

You may not have had your day Port Adelaide but Logan showed all you need is a moment. ;D

Look, the public transport (PT) is not that bad.
You can get from dozens of locations around Adelaide on the designated shuttle buses (free) which when they get around the traffic of the ground have their own lanes and drop off/pick up area. The buses arrive and depart frequently and ensure quick arrival and dissipation of the crowds.

The problem though is with the distance of travel for some, and that the buses is the only form of PT.
Many chardonnay sippers have their BBQ's in the grounds around AAMI before and after the game - something they have been doing since defeating Hawthorn by 86 pts in 1991. The reason I put this in is Adelaideans prefer to hold on to the past rather than embrace the future.
I mean it's okay to have your day out and your routines but it does mean that we who go to the footy are forced to slowly wade ourselves through the throng who hang around the ground before and after.
My family has the distingished privelege of escorting a handicapped man to the footy most weeks and we get parking exceptions, we are thankful for small mercies.
I employ a lady who also works at THE only nearby bar/pub. She comes into work for me for a rest.
The reason in part for declining attendances is the proximity of other bars/restaurants for pre and post match festivities. Something I had the delirious pleasure in experiencing in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago.
A move into the city I would support only if the SANFL was the beneficiary, who owns both the Power and the Crows, not the SACA and the AFL.
There is a nearby train network to support the bus network at Adelaide  oval and I wait now for the grubby, greedy Adelaide city council to halt /overcharge any carpark plans.

Look, Adelaide has an army of fans/members and Port has a tough recruitment drive ahead of it to arrest it's attendance slide. It is just not the place to have football for Port at AAMI as it's club licensed venue The Prince of Wales? is not that financial and Power needs people through the gate to change their destiny. This will help by taking games to Adelaide oval and a better stadium deal.
Steven Trigg and Adelaide are making so much piss and wind about it because they would not want Port to have that advantage after they'd invested so much $ in AAMI themselves, corporately it would leave them streets behind.
I watched the Port game from an open fired warmed house with two Port mates who both said "flower sitting out there in that shower", so 14k? yes weather did play a part.

Take it to the city and it will warm the hearts/wallets of all  ;)

numberwang

please move to adel oval.

i ride pass everyday on my bike roost, and the new stadium or stand looks great.
all we need is the bridge to link the riverside precinct and flower the car park off.
can you tell i'm an architect?

but yes hawka, similar to the way wav park went the way of old yella.

Port Adelaide have some serious problems really. The AFL should do all they can to keep them afloat, they are the most famous non-Victorian club, and from day 1 have had a sense of tradition about them.

But crowds have always been an issue. Even in finals they couldn't fill it up (expensive tickets gets my benefit of the doubt)
